Extension:FireStats?

Anybody using Extension:FireStats to gather wiki statistics? (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:FireStats and http://firestats.cc/) Do you like it? Any comments? Does it impact performance of your wiki to gather these statistics? DanB

Few questions

Hello, 1) Why MediaWiki uses mono fonts on all the <textarea> elements related to editing? And would changing that to other font(s) cause problems? I couldn't find where to edit this in the Monobook CSS. I now it can be simply set in the textarea's style rule, but why it doesn't inherit the font of the body, which is sans-serif? 2) Is it possible to localize URLs in MediaWiki? I'm talking specifically about Arabic URLs. As far as I understand, this can only be done on the browser level not MediaWiki, however I'm seeing several refrences to encoding URLs in the code (e.g. $fallback8bitEncoding = "windows-1251"; on messages files). Footnotes not working

When I view this page http://olr.freemason.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mackey:_An_American_Landmark logged in, I see all the footnotes correctly. However when not logged in, all note references are numbered [1] and none of the notes themselves display. Ideas?

Upgrade has broken pretty url's

Hi, My installation is here: http://wiki.themixingbowl.org/ I've recently upgraded from 1.9.3 to the latest 1.11.1 and I'm unable to make my short url's work correctly. The standard /Article works fine (see http://wiki.themixingbowl.org/FAQ) but when the full URL is required - when a second $_GET variable needs to be passed (e.g. http://wiki.themixingbowl.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=…) mediawiki ignores the URL's. It's like only url's in the format of $wgArticlePath are recognised. Basically, if I set $wgArticlePath = "/$1"; as it is at the moment then mediawiki failes to recognise the http://wiki.themixingbowl.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=… style of url's. If I were to set $wgArticlePath = "$wgScript?title=$1"; (without changing my rewrite rules) then the URL http://wiki.themixingbowl.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=… will work fine. These URL's worked fine with 1.9.3 but aren't working for me on 1.11.1. Sorry for the waffle-y email but it's a difficult problem to explain (and to search for solutions for). If I've left out any vital info to help diagnose the issue please let me know. Many thanks

I am writing an extension, I have most the php done. But I need to include a java-script file and a css file. How would I do this. I tried looking at other extensions that do this, but to no avail at all. -Adam

How to make the "watch" option turned ON by default‎

Hi Everyone, I would like to make the "watch" option turned ON by default. Meaning that whenever someone creates or edits a page they will "watch" it. I thought that an easy way for that is to Turn On the checkbox of "watch this page" Form when editing or creating new pages (below the page content edit text field) Can anyone tell me how to change that form? Effectiveness of Extension:WhiteList?

Does anyone know how well this extension works? Has anyone used it? It claims to be able to restrict access to all pages except those on a whitelist, FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL USER. The last part there, of course, being the bit that makes me suspicious. The documentation on Meta mentions no holes, workarounds, or flaws of any kind. Does this extension do what it says on the tin?

While investigating the cause of errors like: PHP Notice: Undefined variable: stack in .../includes/Title.php on line 2737 I doscovered that the category browsing feature seem to have been broken since revision 4913, which is more than three years old. disabling the option to create new accounts

Hello, what is the supposed way if i want to disable the option to create new accounts on my wiki ? I expected this setting would be located in LocalSettings.php but i havent found something related to my search-keywords. At the moment my users can easily create themself new accouts, just be selecting the option inside my wiki installation. As all needed accounts are created already (fix amount of users) it would be great if i could disabling the option to create new accounts now. Any suggestions ?
