You are right beside apache mod_deflate. LocalSetting setting enable
compressing. Remove it solve the problem.
Thank You

MYISAM or InnoDB? Unfortunately, copying the .MYI, etc, files will
not work with InnoDB tables:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/backup.html
"You can also create a binary backup simply by copying all table
files (*.frm, *.MYD, and *.MYI files), as long as the server
isn't updating anything. The mysqlhotcopy script uses this
method. (But note that these methods do not work if your database
contains InnoDB tables. InnoDB does not store table contents in
database directories, and mysqlhotcopy works only for MyISAM
tables.)"
Here's a thread where someone learned this the hard way:

I was unable to do so after backing up an InnoDB by copying the
files (as you did) instead of using mysqldump. Now, I use mysqldump.

Good luck. Perhaps someone who knows more can help you recover.

I want to use the #if statement in a template to display or not display a
row if no data is being sent into the template. Are there some easy
examples out there showing how to do this?
Thanks.

Hi,
I would like to make my mediawiki an OAI data provider. Is the
OAIRepository extension meant for that? I downloaded it from cvs. But
how to use it? No info available.. My MW is 1.11. I added the
OAIRepo.php file to localsettings.php and it's showing in the
Special"Version page. But no special page is available. Plz help me with
this...

Compare the LocalSettings.php files (or equivalent configuration
settings) between the various wikis; there's _something_ different. :)

Hi,
When I create a group on the Group Administration page does not show on the
User right list page or user rights management page. Has somebody
experience this problem before. Any idea what I can be missing. I need to
assign rights base on groups and I would like to administer the user with
the User right list page.
Thank you for your help and all the previous help, this the first wiki I
work on and everything is new.

Thanks, will do a complete backup then delete them.

Hi, no my concern is not disk space, I have a 250GB drive, and apache/
documents is only 2.6 GB.
However, I have to reboot from an external drive to create an image
with NetRestore, and then the wiki is down.
NetRestore is asymmetrical, it can restore from a image in 5-10
minutes, but takes 40-50 minutes to create that image.
So, I was trying to minimize down time. The smaller the amount of
data, the shorter the duration.

I am trying to figure out how templates work and have run into some
trouble. I've got a template defined as:
==Description==<br>
{{{Description}}}<br>
===Parameters===<br>
{{{Parameters}}}<br>
===Return Value===<br>
{{{ReturnValue}}}<br>
==Notes==<br>
{{{Notes}}}<br>
==Examples==<br>
{{{Examples}}}<br>
==Change Log==<br>
{{{ChangeLog}}}<br>
==See Also==<br>
{{{SeeAlso}}}<br>
[[Category:{{{Category}}}]]
The problem is that when I use the template by doing:
{{FunctionDefinition
|Description=GetFileIndex Description
|Parameters=Joe
|ReturnValue=its return value
|Notes=some notes
|Examples=the examples
|ChangeLog=the changelog
|SeeAlso=my see also
|Category=ATestCategory}}
The substitution happens correctly, but the section headers are just
appearing as
==Description==
etc. and I would like to see them show up as regular wiki section
headers.
Now, if I change the template to be:
<h1>Description</h1><br>
etc.
the section headers do show up as I expect them to be...is this the
correct method?
I also noticed that the 'edit' link also appears next to the section
header and clicking on it produces an error - can this section 'edit'
link be suppressed?
Thank you.
We allow uploads of up to 70 mb in our wiki, to support QuickTime
movies.
I have been cleaning up videos that are not used by deleting the page
created when the asset is uploaded, using the Delete button at the
top, when logged in as WikiSysop.
I notice the images/archive folder is over 1 GB in size. Can I safely
delete everything inside it, just leaving the empty archive folder?
We have a large hard drive, but create a new image every week for
backup, and it would save time.
This is in MediaWiki 1.5.4, PHP 4.4.7, MySQL 5.0.18
Please, no lectures on updating, will do so at end of semester :-)
