Mediawiki 1.7.1. and rss

After upgrading to Mediawiki 1.7.1. I have a problem with the rss feed. I get the following error: XML-parse fault: XML-declaration not at the beginning of an external XML entitie. Line 2, column 1: Any idea? N Jansen

Upload size

Hi, I have a user who tried to upload a 3 MB pdf and got the following error: This file is bigger than the server is configured to allow. I checked LocalSettings and nothing in there mention max upload size. I checked http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Configuration_settings but the only thing I found is to display a warning is a file was too big. I tried to set that parameter to 0 but that didn't work. Is this a PHP limit? Simon

I don't know much about SVG, but why would any external program need to rasterize an SVG image. changing user name

For various reasons my wiki is closed. A large number of the users had a user name chosen for them by virtue of membership of another site. Some of these uses want to change their user name. Is there a special page that will allow a logged in user to change their user name?

Shared-login across multiple MediaWikis

Anyone seen a guide on this or willing to share some insight? I have a site with multiple MWs each on subdomains sharing common MW code and a common DB (uses table prefixes for the subdomains). How do I get those to share one users table? ..Kev

[MediaWiki-l] sql error when Rebuilding recentchanges table

Hi, i get an error when i rebuild the table of the recent changes. In our company, we have a global wiki as intranet. every day, we dump this wiki and store these dump in the lokal wiki on our notebooks. this is for backup and for the case that you work offline. to import the dump is not a big problem. but after the dump i make a php rebuildAll.php the part which is rebuilding the recentchanges table doesn't work. Upgrading from MediaWiki 1.4.5 to 1.6.7 -- Problem resolved....

I realized my error almost as soon as I sent the email -- user error (me, specifically). I had uppercase letters for the subdirectory that I was referencing while my upgrade script was looking for an upper/lowercase subdirectory. Hence, the previous message of "No input file specified." So, seems as though the update.php file worked fine for me on version 1.4.5 as well. Thanks, Karen
