Hi,
I want to create a page and have some default text for it on the
'ArticleSaveComplete' event. For this i ma inserting information into the
page, revision and text table. I am enetring the default text into the text
table. I do not know how to get the length of the page (that is the default
text) to inset it into the page table. Will this actually create a page for
it or do i need ot call Article class for the same?
Thanks,
Amruta
I have a page Alpha, which contains a "Category: X" link, but the "Category:
X" page does not have the page Alpha listed on it. When I edit the page
Alpha then the "Category: X" page correctly lists the Alpha page. My
question: how can I force, with MediaWiki calls, an update of the category
links. I have tried with the following code to even check if the category
links are OK, but this does not seem to work. Thanks for any ideas.
$pageName = "Alpha";
$title = new Title();
$title = $title->newFromText($pageName);
$linkCache = new LinkCache();
$linkCache->preFill($title);
$catLinks = $linkCache->getCategoryLinks();
print_r($catLinks, "catLinks");

I tried this which works but gives the warning:

$skin = $wgUser->getSkin();

Hello all,
I am stuck with a Database error message at my wik at
http://www.indiaonpix.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
The wiki is now not showing any text.
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the
software. The last attempted database query was:

I was editing a page as Sysop where I entered something like <font

2. Tobacco<br>
I did searched google but was able to find some relavent docs. Is it a Bug?
1. how can i correct this.
2. How can I disable hidden Sql query?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,
I wonder how the UTF-8-Support in Mediawiki works and what valid
combinations of database charsets and output charsets are.
As far as I understand in version 1.5 the default character set has
changed to UTF-8. Therefore I suppose Mediawiki stores HTML-entities in
the database per default (because Mysql 4.0 does not fully support
UTF-8). Right?
Yesterday we tried to upgrade a 1.5x-Media-Wiki to Mysql 4.1 (the server
was upgraded and the wiki was unfortunately affected). We found a
character set mess within the latin1-database, which we cleaned up by
find/replace in the dump file. Now we have UTF8 content in the database,
the character set for the tables is set to UTF-8 and utf8 is used as
charset in the output. We also enabled the Mysql5-experimental flag.
Some parts of the page work all right, some do not (e.g. page titles),
this was mentioned in the changelog file as todo.
Now it's broken and I would like to which combination is supposed to
work. Is this one a possible combination?
Database: Mysql 4.1
PHP: 5.1
Database-charset: Latin1, all content in the database is latin1
Output-charset: UTF-8
Thanks for any hint.

Dorthe
Hello All!
I have a problem editing any of my wiki pages... it's a whole new wiki
engine, and whenever I try to save a page I get this message:
" Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: searchupdate in
/home/freeall2/public_html/arkana/arkanapedia/includes/Article.php on line

Thanks ahead!

Just to announce that version 1.1 of the NewUserNotif extension is now
in CVS. Per RedACE from #mediawiki, I've added support for emailing
notifications to additional, given email addresses, such as mailing
lists, etc.
Full details on http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/New_User_Email_Notification.

I am trying to create a skin in which the tabbed links are no longer seen
and some of the links (edit, history, etc) are now seen along the top right
of the screen. I have successfully "deleted" the tabs, but I'm having an
issue with creating an edit and history link along the top right. Has anyone
done this successfully with a skin they have created?
