I need to have this question answered please.
All I'm asking is for a simple yes (and how to do it) or no. This has
nothing to do with my status on Wikipedia (so if anyone's avoiding
answering me because of this, that's really silly) and I'd appreciate an
answer.
If for some reason, you wish to converse with someone else regarding
this (which is also pretty silly), feel free to e-mail gary.meijer(a)gmail.com
Either way, I need an answer please..not ignoring the question. I have
nowhere else to ask, you're the developers, you should know the answer.
Is it or is it not possible? And if it is, how? And if it isn't, just
tell me because I have no way to know unless you do.
Hopefully someone will answer.
Thank you in advance.

I wondering if this is possible in MediaWiki:
User registers.
User has to confirm e-mail is valid to register (yes, I know this part is)
Then user is told "You must send a copy of photo ID etc etc" (there's a
method to my madness, it's to reduce anonymity so all users are
responsible for what they post, be it an article or a comment)..so their
account is put on some sort of hold status pending this.
It should be possible, I just don't know how.
I'd appreciate it if replies were sent (or cc'd) to my e-mail address.
Thanks in advance for the help.
On all of the English pages of http://chainki.org whenever I click on "Edit"
one of the little images appears to be missing.
It is the image between the "Level 2 headline" image of a very large A, and
the "Media link" image of a trumpet.
You could edit any page, but here's a direct link to a random page in edit
mode to save you some effort:
http://en.chainki.org/index.php?title=Lodging_%28Regional/Europe/Germany/St…
So, other than "reinstall the software", how can I fix it?
Thanks!
Hugh
Here's how I backup a live wiki.
Before each backup:
#!/bin/zsh
mysql/support-files/mysql.server stop
{
rsync -a --delete mysql/data mysql-snapshot-data
} always {
mysql/support-files/mysql.server start
}
Back up mysql-snapshot-data.
Don't bother to back up mysql/data. If you do backup mysql/data,
never restore from it.

Hi all,
I am more of ASP.NET developer but i found Mediawiki to be the best solution
so i started using it for my idea,
I wonder about solution for the home page, i need a list of categories, or
maybe other interesting extensions that may show the last 10 or 20 entries
into the app (without repeating the changes ) or any other useful tool to
make home pages more interesting.
also I tried to Use the language Template, so that i can have multiple
articles with different languages and the pages should be able to show the
relation, It did not work after i copied the Templates into my app, s there
any explanation on how to do this.
thanks for your help

Hello,
Due to MySQL problems, `revision` table is now present partially.
What can we do - rebuild it somehow or?..

ok here's an odd situation and I'm not sure how to go about it.
We have a second DB other that the one wiki does that the wiki refers to for
members and such. We also been able to make some special pages which will
look at the member DB and generate either a list of members or a list of
chapters and where they are located.
Each chapter automatically gets a page to do as they want with. What I want
to do is set up something that will look at the member DB and generate the
list of each chapters members on only their page. Can a template be made to
look at the page title of the page that calls it and then submit that to a
SQL query? Any other suggestions on how to do the template would be greatly
helpful.
For that matter, especially if you are a Trek fan, I could use help in our
group. Contact me off-list if you could lend a hand.

Do a backup of the database using MySQL Administrator or phpMyAdmin and
copy the folder where you installed it somewhere.
If it craps out, just restore the database and the folder.
Haven't had problems doing that.
