disabling editsection does not work (MW 1.71)

In Mediawiki 1.71 in LocalSettings.php i set $wgDefaultUserOptions['editsection'] = 0; But anonymos users still see [edit]. I got it worked in an older mediawiki-version. Are there still further things to do. Dit there change something in Mediawiki 1.71 Thx, HeinJ

You put <inputbox>...</inputbox> in the editbox of any editable page of your wiki, not the php code. You do know what a page that you can edit is, don't you? ;) Filip The fact is that I have NO html files in the mediawiki folder...!

Styles not working

When I change the styles, I don't get much in the way of formatting. I followed the directions to shorten the URL and renamed my directory. Might this have something to do with it? I can still access my images directory, so that's not the primary problem (one of my earlier changes did kill access to it). Possibly-relevant lines from LocalSettings.php are: $wgSitename = "MyWiki"; $wgScriptPath = "/_MyWiki"; $wgScript = "$wgScriptPath/index.php"; $wgRedirectScript = "$wgScriptPath/redirect.php"; $wgArticlePath = "/MyWiki/$1"; $wgStylePath = "$wgScriptPath/skins"; $wgStyleDirectory = "$IP/skins"; Possibly-relevant lines from httpd.conf are: Alias /DPWiki "c:/wamp/www/_MyWiki/index.php/" Alias /index.php "c:/wamp/www/_MyWiki/index.php" Also, how do I debug PHP code short of running it in the browser? (Or is that the only way?) Thanks.

Creating new articles

Is there any way to link into a wiki from an outside source prompting the user to create a new article? I'd like to put a button on an external page that says "Create Article" - when they get into my wiki, then I'll ask them what they want to call the article. Is that possible? Thanks very much, -Rich

Authenticating users through header instead of user/pass form

The situation is this: I have a website that links to a page inside my wiki. Problem is that in order to see this page, you need to be logged in. I don't have the option of keeping this wiki secrete or only letting certain individuals know that I have an unprotected page in my wiki. So then, the goal is to be able to somehow log in into my wiki without using the log in page. Something along the lines of passing certain parameters in the header. Is this possible? Has anyone done something along the lines of my goal? Any help is appreciated. InputBox extension again :-(

Hello again..., this whole new world of web development is driving me crazy :D I am using MediaWiki 1.7.1, I just installed it, and I think all html is generated by PHP code, for example in index.php I guess they generate the Main_Page, etc... I understood your examples but what can I do in my personal case? Where should I put <inputbox>...</inputbox> if I have no html...!? Btw it would be nice if you could send me the html code of the pages where you used the Inputbox extension..., sorry for my ignorance and my bad english, hope I could help you someday ;), best wishes, Yandry.
