Transcluded parameters within a template transclusion

Another query regarding expected transclusion behaviour: Should the markup below pass the contents of TranscludedPage as a parameter to TemplatePage? For the specific template I'm actually using it seems to be calling TemplatePage with something like the literal parameter "{{:TranscludedPage}}" but then splitting up this token so that the final "}}" appears after a header break inserted by the template. Working with mysql replication

[version française plus bas] Hello, i've 4 mysql servers working in replication mode (1 master for delete, updates, ... and 3 slaves where datas are replicated) i saw that the wikipedia projects works on a such system (there : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_servers) , so it would be possible to do so with mediawiki currently, i user the master for update,delete and select how can i use the power of mysql replication in my install ? how can i set the master's ip and slaves' ip ? thanks :) Bonjour, j'ai 4 serveurs mysql qui travaillent en réplication (1 maître pour les delete et les updates, 3 escalves pour les select sur lesquels les données sont répliquées) j'ai vu que le projet wikipedia travaillais sur ce genre de système (ici http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_servers), alors je me dit que ce doit être possible de faire la même chose sur mon installation actuellement j'utilise mon serveur maître comme serveur unique (update, delete et select) comment je peux utiliser la puissance de la réplication dans mon installation ? Help:Editing and Crufty URLs

I have a couple of problems from a default debian mediawiki install. Debian packagers seem to think it is an upstream problem, so here I am relaying the message. The file you uploaded seems to be empty.

I was happily uploading files when suddenly I was treated to the Upload Error page with this message in red text: "The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file." Interestingly, the image is actually in the /temp directory. I have seen this before and chased down the php. It seems some of the session variables related to this upload are not persistent across screens. Eventually the problem cleared and I pressed on with my work. I don't know how this problem shows up nor do I know how to get rid of it. I have the problem right now. Thanks, Arthur, I think that's $wgHashedSharedUploadDirectory - as listed in includes/DefaultSettings.php Before I modify this, is there a straightforward way of transforming things so that files already uploaded are not busted? Can I just drop them into the top level directory and everything will be OK. Also should I worry about the SharedUpload part of the name of this flag, since the SharedUpload configuration is by default itself disabled. Did a little experimenting on my local install and here's my findings. Note, I'm using mysql db. Enabling the following debug flags helps display the pertinent content: $wgDebugComments = true; $wgDebugDumpSql = true; Under ../includes/SearchMySQL.php contains the following function: function searchText( $term ) { $resultSet = $this->db->resultObject( $this->db->query( $this->getQuery( $this->filter( $term ), true ) ) ); return new MySQLSearchResultSet( $resultSet, $this->searchTerms ); } Basically, filter() (in SearchEngine.php) defines what is a legal character. Modify this constant to allow '*'. Now wildcards matches work. Also, see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/fulltext-boolean.html for details about full text sql queries in MySQL. Uploaded files, URL addressing and file types

A few issues with uploading and addressing files. First of all, I can't find a sensible way of addressing an uploaded file as a URL. I seem to end up with bizarre urls, such as http://myserver/images/e/eb/IST.jpg Where what I really want is something like http://myserver/uploads/IST.jpg <http://myserver/mediawiki/uploads/IST.jpg> without the random URL. This means I can reliably refer to such files from the template or from anywhere else, and then the versioning can look after serving up the latest version of the file, and people can manage it as per normal uploaded files. Transcluded files as part of a link redirection

Assuming that the contents of "Another Page" were "A String", should the below markup produce a link to "Some Page" with the link's text being "Random Message A String"? I have used code similar to this and initially it functioned as described, but later a link was not produced and instead the text produced was "[[Some Page|Random Message {{:Another Page}}]" (i.e. the original markup missing the final square bracket).
