I am trying to install media wiki, but it fails whilst its creating the
database. There doesn't seem to be any specific error and it has
succesfully created the database with some tables etc.
Thanks, Andy

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] Image uploading problems
Hi,
I've installed Mediawiki 1.3.11 on a web host that allows for php
uploads, with safe mode off. However, I have a problem when trying to
upload jpegs. I get the following internal error warnings:
Warning: mkdir(/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/images/e):
Permission denied in
/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/includes/ GlobalFunctions.php on
line
487
Warning: mkdir(/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/images/e/ed): No
such file or directory in
/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/ includes/GlobalFunctions.php on
line
489
Warning:
move_uploaded_file(/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/images/e/ed/
IMG_0203.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in
/home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/includes/SpecialUpload.php on line 312
Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpjYf7v7'
to '/home2/tomtxu/public_html/wiki/images/e/ed/IMG_0203.jpg' in
/ home2/blahblah/public_html/wiki/includes/SpecialUpload.php on
line
312
I get the impression that this is something to do with the mentioned php
files changing permissions, or failing to do so. But to be honest I'm a
newcomer to PHP, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Tom Roberts

Goedemiddag (Good Afternoon),
I'm having problems using Enotif. After installing version mw1311+en202
AND manually applying the ALTER TABLE query to add the
wl_notificationtimestamp field all looked promising. Until I noticed
that the Enotif preferences did not stick: when I check the boxes for
the Enotif options and click [save] in the user preference screen, al
the checks EXCEPT the top one (blocking e-mail from other users)
dissappear. Consequently: there is no notification of page changes.
Please help
thank you

Brion,
Yes, I checked this option and it is turned off in my php.ini file. Do you know of anything else that might cause this issue? My other option would be to upgrade to 1.3.11 to see if it fixes.
Thanks again
Jared

Make sure you've got magic_quotes_runtime turned off. This is a special
PHP configuration option which will CORRUPT ALL YOUR DATA if on. (The
default is *off*, and there is no reasonable reason to ever turn it on.)
Also, upgrade to 1.3.11; there are a number of security updates since 1.3.6.

All,
I have run into a small issue on my mediawiki 1.3.6 install. When I use an apostrophe in a word like, you've, it displays it like this: you\'ve. Has anyone seen this or know away around it?
Thanks in advance
Jared
Hello,
I'd like to have a small text in all the pages from the same
namespace(Talk:).
What I mean is like the "fund raising" text from mediawiki(not
editable)... but only in for a distinct namespace pages. Is there a
template somewhere for each namespace that I can hack?
Thanks
François
Hey..
I'm courious about something. It is possible to setup MediaWiki
to email someone as soon as any non-minor change is made to ANY page?
That should include creation of new pages as well.
thanks,
