Hi,
sorry for writing to the wrong mailinglist wikitech. I hope that this
is the right one for my problem.
I am using MediaWiki 1.5.1 with PHP 4.1.2 and I often get the
following warning when accessing my wiki pages:
Warning: mt_rand(): Invalid range: 0..0 in
/path/to/mediawiki/includes/LoadBalancer.php on line 584
Do you know that warning and can you tell me how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

I was interested in getting feedback from current mail group users.
We have mirrored your mail list in a new application that provides a more aggregated and safe environment which utilizes the power of broadband.
Roomity.com v 1.5 is a web 2.01 community webapp. Our newest version adds broadcast video and social networking such as favorite authors and an html editor.
It?s free to join and any feedback would be appreciated.

Hello, all,
I am working on a "table and text" test! I have finished a big table
framework with Mediawiki, which almost contains 20 columns and 100 rows. At
the same time, there are 2 small tables which is the sub-table of the big
one, that is, the content of them are same but displayed in different
tables. During the process, I encounter some problems:
(1). Because the contents in tables are same, if I edit one cell of the big
table, I must change those in the small table to keep sync. Perhaps it is
very easy to forget to change them at the same time and to make mistakes.
(2). Because the table is so big that it is very for user to add or edit the
cell contents. So I plan to put an [edit] into each cell. When the user
pushes [edit], it will show a page containing the cell content to user to
edit. Just like the syntax in Mediawiki:
== Wiki ==
# Example 1
# Example 2
I have one idea to solve it: place the content of a cell in a single page,
and display the content of the page in the cell; which is like the
Document-View. I have searched the Mediawiki manual but couldn't find any
skill or method to solve this problem.
Have you ever encountered similar problems or had a solution? If so, could
you be so kind to tell me the solution?
Thanks in advance!!
Best Regards,
Mark
I had a perfectly functioning wiki, happily making edits and uploading
stuff. All was good.
http://law.flindersclubs.asn.au/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
Then *something* happened at the hosting company that has broken my wiki. :-(
1. To login, I now need to tick "Remember my password across
sessions.", otherwise it reverts to my IP address
2. When uploading, I get the red msg ; "Upload error. The file you
uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file
name."
3. When I do make a change, and save changes, it's as if I hit the
preview button. The changes are *not* saved.
So essentially I'm stuck with a wiki stuck in time. A stiki-wiki
I'm running :
MediaWiki (http://wikipedia.sf.net/): 1.4.9
PHP (http://www.php.net/): 4.3.10 (cgi) (zipped output of php -i attached)
MySQL (http://www.mysql.com/): 4.0.18-Max
I get valid cookies for :
PHPSESSID - expires at end of sesssion
Token, UserID and UserName - all expire in one month
The hosting company won't talk to me directly, and the intemediary is
not really helpful.
I do have SSH access, but with quite limited, non-root access.
My only clue is that this page
http://law.flindersclubs.asn.au/wiki/index.php?title=Photos
shows an incomplete thumbnail. The photos were all uploaded - these
uploads looks like the last thing that was done to the wiki just
before it broke.
So, I don't know if we hit a diskspace limit (I've been advised that
it's been increased anyway), and if that broke something, or if this
is co-incidence, and some underlying PHP, or Apache thing has changed
that has broken the wiki.
Any ideas gratefully received,
cheers,
darren.
hi,
just wanted to post here the possibility to add search in Google's
new Print service (books online searchable) in MediaWiki's
Template:ISBN by adding the following line:
* [http://print.google.com/print?q=isbn:{{{1}}} Find this book] on
[[WikiPedia:Google_Print#Print|Google Print]]
best regards,
wolfgang

I'm setting up a mediawiki for a friend who produces short films. I
can't seem to upload videos though. I get the error: "The file you
uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file
name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file."
I considered brute forcing the problem for now, and ftp-ing the videos
I have into the image directory, but I looked at the database entry
for some Images I uploaded, and I don't know how that translates into
the subdirectory where images are stored.
Ideally, the website would be set up such that my friend could upload
videos from her home computer, so I'd like to solve this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Basseri
Any ideas anyone?

Hi,
I am running 1.5.2.
I have a problem and need help.
I created a new article, for example called nyc and
after I saved this page, the page display the way I
wanted.
But later when I clicked on the nyc, the mediawiki
show the edit page rather that the nyc article page.
Any suggestions?
thanks
