Hi,
I cannot find any information on how to set "CologneBlue" as new default
skin for my Wiki. After a while I edited Skin.php, put comments around
all skins except CologneBlue, and changed...
function getStylesheet()
{
return "wikistandard.css";
}
...to...
function getStylesheet()
{
return "cologneblue.css";
}
This works fine, but now registered members who had the "Standard" skin
set as default get an error message, for example:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: skinstandard in
/www/htdocs/mozilla/wiki/includes/User.php on line 438
So how can I properly switch to Cologneblue as default skin? I hoped
there was a variable in DefaultSettings.php, but there isn't.
Thanks.
I had an install working (SuSE Linux 9.0) and I trashed MySQL. I
reloaded MySQL and tried to reinstall wikimedia. I keep getting the
following errors. Any idea of how to fix this?
TIA
MediaWiki 1.2.4 installation

Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
Thanks, Brion, I protested vehemently with the staff
that host the site. They changed the inclusion path,
from
$IP = "/home/ourpieee/www/wiki";
to
"/home/ourpieee/public_html/wiki";
and now it works. The funny things is that I am
convinced that even before the address was
"/home/ourpieee/public_html/wiki"; but I am far from
home, and cannot check. In any case now it works.
It's all very misterious.
Thanks again,
Pietro

The toy broke yesterday.
For some strange reason ouranswer (www.ouranswer.org)
broke up yesterday, for no apparent reason. The only
thing I know is that the site had some problems, and
for some time MySQL was not available, but now
everything went back to normal, except that the wiki
never resumed working :(
The error message is:

I have not yet set up a MediaWiki wiki, but I'm wondering how
people are dealing with wiki spam. I just read the following in
a POPFile discussion about the POPFile wiki:
--- begin quote ---
If you enter a URL that is for an off-site link in the Wiki it
must be approved by me. If it is not then the link will be
replaced with the text:
You are not authorized to add this URL
and the URL will not be displayed.
--- end quote ---
You can read the full discussion here:

I'm thinking that I would like to have the option to do this on
the upcoming Infinite Ink wiki. Does MediaWiki support anything
like this or are there any plans for something like this?
Thanks you,
Nancy

Hi!
I've set up a wiki where the intention is to have public viewing, but with
a restricted list of editors. Technically this was done by:
$wgWhitelistEdit = true;
$wgWhitelistAccount = array ( "user" => 0, "sysop" => 1, "developer" => 1 );
However, I am at a loss as to how I as a sysop can add new users. Do I have
to add them manually by SQL'ing the database directly? Or is there some way
or interface that I don't know about? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Arne Meyer
PS: Please note that this is not a question about the principle of
restricting the list of people who can edit; we are aware of the drawbacks
of it, but allowing everyone to edit is unfortunately not an option for the
time being.
Changes since 1.2.4:
* Fixed install problem with blank root password
* Fixed Special:Emailuser/Username links
* Fixed main-page edit links on fuzzy search results
* Fixed wikipedia-interwiki.sql
* Fixed install with apache2filter (ugly URLs)
* IP in 'go' search brings up contributions
* Switch from broken & to ? on top-level wiki URL hack
* Fix for moved pages in enhanced Recentchanges
* Initial main page on new installs links to the online documentation
There are no database format changes.

Hi all,
I just install new MediaWiki 1-2-4. When I installed it, I chose Englsih
UFT-8, and now all is English page, but I wanna change to other localize
language.
First, I did delete LocalSettings.php and run new install on
/config/install and now I got generated LocalSettings.php which I chose new
localized language.
But the problem is, even put that new one to root directory. But when
acceess the page, it's still in English page like usual...
Any way to chage language after installed ? I don't wanna delete all and
re-run from zero, 'cos now there're some pages already.
Thank you, D_KOTE.
