hello,
I publish an extension to add multi-languages capacities to a wiki. : http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MultiLanguageManager
It looks interesting.
The MediaWiki page could really benefit from some screenshots, especially regarding more than one translation of a page, and the "language" tab for people who have the userrights.
I think it's bad to use flags to represent languages, but the flag files could be overwritten with language codes I suppose. :) I think it would be fine just as a text link, though.
At the moment on your website, on a French page it displays a huge British flag, and on an English page it displays a huge French page. The intended meaning "Switch to this language" is not that obvious to me. I would have put the flag representing the CURRENT language on the page. What happens when there is more than one translation? Which flag gets displayed?
