Most of the panchayaths in Thrissur & nearby districts (and most districts in Kerala) were mapped by me in both wikimapia and google maps in the last two-three years. Some like the above had very obscure resolution and cloud masks. Besides, the GSI maps from Kerala Government sites were old and obsolete.(Palakkad maps attached here) These maps are as they were in 2003 or before. No idea if they have been revised. These were available from the GSI map site from Kerala panchayath dept. site a few years ago. Link not bookmarked. When I search for them now, I could not find the website any soon. As such, our government sites are the worst when it comes to any responsibility, reliability or currency.
If you see any mark-ups in Googlemaps or Wikimapia, it was all done by individual users just like us. I suggest we ourselves add such features to the areas you are very familiar with. Although both wikimapia and google are proprietary information, in the long run, it is going to help all of us citizens anyway.
If you know the exact locations (geo-directional boundary extremities), there are some lab tools in Google maps and/or Google mapmaker and in wikimapia toolbar gadget to obtain fast LatLong cords.
