Hey guys, Maybe you can help with this... i cant understand whats happening. I've applied a custom skin to my site and hosted it, now any user who logs into the site gets to see this skin, but somehow when existing members sign in they see the old skin. ( i've disabled the option to choose your own skin in the preferences section ) and i'm not using the monobook theme.
Any ideas? i've foxed!!

Existing users will have had their skin preference set to the default as it was when their accounts were created.
You could attempt to use $wgSkipSkins[] = "monobook"; in LocalSettings.php, which should force MediaWiki to not recognise MonoBook as a valid skin, and so fall back to the default, with luck. Otherwise, check the maintenance/ directories in Subversion trunk; Hashar added a script which allows changing user preferences.
