Never used MOWES. As far as AMP packages go, they're pretty much all the same.
However, packaged MediaWiki (either distro packages or an independent thing like this) tend to be less than stellar. If their wiki is any indication[0], they don't seem to stay on top of updates too often.

Moving a wiki is usually pretty trivial. Should only need to rename the folder and update $wgScriptPath in LocalSettings.php. If you're using "pretty URLs", you may also need to change your rewrite rules too.
