I don't know if that works when the templates are
used
as a standard for new articles, rather than transcluded, though.
I'm doubtful that this would be the case - it would require that the
EditPage preloading mechanism is smart enough to strip out <includeonly>
pairs along with any contained text.

Normally, you fix that by putting <includeonly></includeonly> around
