[event] [crossposting] Wiki-based Business Process Tooling at NASA: The Need for Open CSP

The Tech Department at Wikimedia Foundation [1] invites you to a* special event on February 09, 2023, at 1600 UTC* [2]. *Richard Evans, Electronics & Data Systems Engineer At NASA Glenn Research Center *[3], will be presenting on *how MediaWiki is being used within NASA* to help manage the testing of very large spacecraft to prove they can survive the harsh conditions of launch, orbit, and re-entry. The management platform is built from MediaWiki and several key extensions that provide workflow support. This evolving platform plans to incorporate the extensions that form the MediaWiki-powered Open CSP platform [4]. This talk will explain the architecture and benefits of the NASA platform and motivate the need for Open CSP. We’ll also be recording the event to share with those who can’t make it. Per Namespace License

Hi everybody, we want to import and integrate some older MediaWiki databases (xml export / import) and shut down some old instances. For that we do want to move the content to separated namespaces. Sadly these wikis were using different licenses. Is there a way to change the license based on namespaces? Best regards, Dennis

MediaWiki API - show deleted wiki pages of 1 specific category?

TLDR: Hello, is there an API feature to list deleted wiki pages but only from these which are 1 specific category prior deletion? Long: I only found API query module deletedrevisions [1], alldeletedrevisions [2], the logevents letype=delete [3] but it does not seem to have this feature. The use case is, if a wiki page was deleted in one wiki it should also be deleted in another wiki (shared content) using MediaWiki API. Gadget not loading with resourceloader | 1.38.1

Hi. I want auto numeration to work again, so I copied and pasted the gadget code listed under https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Snippets/Auto-number_headings in the three (MediaWiki:Gadgets-definitions did not exit with any gadget registration before) files mentioned there. Unfortunately it does not work. Can anyone help? Thanks, Steffi

This fixes an issue identified in the MediaWiki 1.37.5 and 1.38.3 releases. The patch for T307278 was incorrectly back-ported, which would result in an error when rollbacks happened. To try and reduce the likelihood of this happening again in future, I have filed <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T318976> which when resolved will mean we're running both PHPCS and Phan proactively as part of the release and tarballing process. As a reminder, 1.37 is due to become end of life (EOL) in November 2022. 1.37.6 is expected to be the last release for this branch. I'm pleased to announce the immediate availability of MediaWiki 1.39.0-rc.1, the second release candidate for 1.39.0, the next LTS after MediaWiki 1.35. Download links are at the end of the e-mail. The tag has been signed and pushed to Git. This is not a final release, and should not be used for production websites. Known issues are tracked in Phabricator on the release workboard [1]. As with every release of MediaWiki, a large number of changes have landed in the last six months (over 1850 commits since 1.38.0 was cut), and you should read over the preliminary release notes as part of assuring yourself of areas that may have issues with your configuration, your skins, and/or your extensions. As always, please try out the release candidate in a test environment and do report any issues that you discover.
