I would be grateful for some direction or an idea of where to look. I feel
like I'm going in a circle with the resource module docs.
What I need to do is load a js module based on language direction in a
skin. Ltr load a ltr.js, rtl direction load a rtl.js instead. Here is what
I came up with, please let me know if there is a better way to do this.
if ( $GLOBALS['wgLang']->getDir() == 'rtl' ) {
$out->addModules('skins.script-rtl.js'); }
else {
$out->addModules('skins.script-ltr.js'); }
Preliminary testing seems to work, is there a better or recommended way?
Thanks
Tom

Dear Team,
Am trying to create users on mediawiki using REST API. Am using Jesey client in the code to achieve the same. Here are the steps am following:
Step 1: Make REST call to mediawiki without token but with user details(who's account has to be created). This generates a token
Step 2: For the same url which i used in the Step 1 am appending the token parameter with value received in Step 1. But this is again generating a new token instead of creating the user
Thanks,
Shwetha
Heiya,
this is painful for me.
There is a wiki accessible with the following logic:
"http://example.com/wiki/Main_Page"
When I edit I have:
"http://example.com/w/index.php?title=Main_Page&action=edit"
To get this magic running I have the following RewriteRules:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/?wiki(/.*)?$ %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/w/index.php [L]
RewriteRule ^/?$ %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/w/index.php [L]
And in "LocalSettings.php":
$wgScriptPath = "/w";
$wgScriptExtension = ".php";
$wgArticlePath = "/wiki/$1";
$wgUsePathInfo = true; // true or false does not make a difference
Everything is cool until I dare to try accessing a page containing a
special character, e.g. "http://example.com/wiki/So_ein_Ärger" and end
up in an indefinite redirect loop.
This wiki is a MW 1.26.2.
Any hint out there? Never encountered anything similar. Admittedly not
my first wiki.
Thanks and cheers
Karsten

I've been having difficulties assembling internal links within templates.
A standard link such as Alice works just fine. But if I try
to do something like:
Unknown}}}|{Unknown}
I get the content of the parameter "user" to appear, but it won't be a link.
Similarly, I tried to use

to provide a link to the user who added the template, but it doesn't seem
to work either, no matter which combinations of <includeonly> tags I try.
Thoughts?
Kind regards,
Manu

and workshop day preceding two conference days.
Participating in the conference: To help us planning, you can already
informally register on the conference page, although a firm registration
will later be needed.
Contributing to the conference: If you want to present your work in the
conference please go to the conference page and add your talk there. To
create an attractive program for the conference, we will later ask you
to give further information about your proposals. Tutorials and
presentations will be video and audio recorded and will be made
available for others after the conference.
Among others, we encourage contributions on the following topics:
Applications of semantic wikis:

This is the one you should use. Your web server may not have permissions
to view that directory. You should first verify that postgres is listening on
that socket with:
psql -h /var/run/postgresql
If that works, check SELinux or other things that may be limiting access
to that directory. For example, see:

What $wgDBserver and $wgDBport settings I should use with postgres socket?
What I tried:
$wgDBtype = "postgres";
$wgDBserver = "localhost";
$wgDBname = "dbname";
$wgDBuser = "dbuser";
$wgDBpassword = "password";
$wgDBport = "5434";
# Yes I run postgres in /var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5434
$wgDBmwschema = "mediawiki";
I tried also empty $wgDBserver and $wgDBserver = "localhost:/var/run/postgresql/"; and $wgDBserver = "localhost:/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5434" with commented $wgDBport, as well as $wgDBserver = "/var/run/postgresql/"; and $wgDBserver = "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5434";
Mediawiki works OK with port, but I want mediawiki to use socket. Since all other applications use it without any problems.
I have an installation of mediawiki 1.24.2 and when I click on the logo it
links to the main page, but it is different from the landing page that I
see when i first visit the site. How can one change the path of the link of
the logo?
Thanks!

Hello Mediawikians,
Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the first Enterprise MediaWiki
Conference in New York City, NY [1]. It was an interesting three day event
that covered many various topics around the use of MediaWiki outside of
Wikimedia projects. All sessions were streamed live and are archived. [2] I
put together some notes on my experience [3] as well as G. Brett Miller
another community member (and coincidently a fellow St. Louisian!). [4]
I encourage you to take a look at the sessions and notes. I had an
enjoyable time due to the excellent planning by our hosts (Yaron Koren,
Pharos, and Pete Woudsma) and would love to see more events in the future.
