Hi,
I recently upgraded our wiki to mw-1.18.1. It uses a mysql database.
As part of our backup script I run the following command:
php /var/www/html/wikidir/maintenance/dumpBackup.php
--full > $DBDIR/mysqldb-contents-$DATE.xml
This gives the following error since the upgrade:
PHP Notice: Undefined property: BackupDumper::$revStartId in
/var/www/html/mediawiki-1.18.1/maintenance/backup.inc on line 213
2012-04-23 23:05:03: wikidb (ID 15586) 37 pages (461.9|461.9/sec
all|curr), 100 revs (1248.4|1248.3/sec all|curr), ETA 2012-04-23
23:05:03 [max 365]
<snip>
Then it proceeds with the backup.
How can I get rid of the Undefined property.
Thanks,
Tony
Hi,
Are there any MediaWiki extensions that allow for searching through the
text of uploaded files, such as Word documents, PDFs, etc. - whether it's
part of the standard search results or in a separate interface? Or is
anyone working on such a thing?
Thanks,
Yaron

Hello,
is there an easy way of checking out all extensions with git? It seems
to be possible with SVN, but git only allows checkout of individual
extensions.
Thanks,
Florian

I'm not sure you understood my suggestion, or perhaps I don't understand your needs.
You refer to "the server." Is it necessary that the forms reside on "the server?" Or could it reside on, for example, your own desktop computer?
It is very simple to download and set up your own MediaWiki server.
That way, you could have complete control over what extensions you install.
I see two reasons you might not want to do this:
1) IT will allow no unauthorized servers on your LAN, or
2) the forms you need to build must be on "the server" owned by IT for some reason -- sharing data outside the firewall, for example.

I'm happy to announce the availability of the first release candidate
release of the new MediaWiki 1.19 release series.
Please test it and let us know what you think of it. Barring new bug
reports, this release candidate will soon be released as MediaWiki 1.19.0.
Please try it out and let us know what you think. Don't run it on any
wikis that you really care about, unless you are both very brave and
very confident in your MediaWiki administration skills.
MediaWiki 1.19 is a large release that contains many new features and
bug fixes. This is a summary of the major changes of interest to users.
You can consult the RELEASE-NOTES-1.19 file for the full list of changes
in this version.
Our thanks go to everyone who helped to improve MediaWiki by testing
the beta release and submitting bug reports.

What's new?
****************************************************************
MediaWiki 1.19 brings the usual host of various bugfixes and new features.
Comprehensive list of what's new is in the release notes.
* Bumped MySQL version requirement to 5.0.2.
* Disable the partial HTML and MathML rendering options for Math,
and render as PNG by default.
* MathML mode was so incomplete most people thought it simply didn't work.
* New skins/common/*.css files usable by skins instead of having to copy
piles of
generic styles from MonoBook or Vector's css.
* The default user signature now contains a talk link in addition to the
user link.
* Searching blocked usernames in block log is now clearer.
* Better timezone recognition in user preferences.
* Extensions can now participate in the extraction of titles from URL paths.
* The command-line installer supports various RDBMSes better.
* The interwiki links table can now be accessed also when the interwiki
cache
is used (used in the API and the Interwiki extension).
Internationalization
- --------------------
* More gender support (for instance in user lists).
* Add languages: Canadian English.
* Language converter improved, e.g. it now works depending on the page
content language.
* Time and number-formatting magic words also now depend on the page
content language.
* Bidirectional support further improved after 1.18.

Subject: Wiki on LAN running slow
I'm puzzling over why our internal wiki is running so slow. I started a
couple of weeks ago typically a page that would have taken a few seconds
to load now can take up to 40 seconds.
I'm at a loss to identify anything on the LAN that might have affected
it.
The wiki is running on a windows 2003 server running IIS and PHP. I have
upgraded the wiki to 1.18.2 no difference. I have tried separate
connections to the MySQL database it uses on our MySQL box and they run
with no lag. I have moved the install to a local Linux box and also
tried a fresh install connecting back to the MySQL Database. Nothing
makes any difference. Can anyone suggest how I trouble shoot this?
