Moving MediaWiki to an new server - some problems

Hello, I'm trying to move my MediaWiki installations to a new server. I backed everything correctly up and been able to complete the setup program. After all necessary steps, I place the new LocalSettings.php in my web-root, run the maintanance script and try to login with my usual credentials. But all I get is a error message stating my username is unknown. If I lookup my username in the user-table, everything looks fine. However, using the Special:User page, my username contains garbage: Marcus St%F6hr instead of Marcus Stöhr. I guess this is has something to do with UTF8 or the like. So, do I need to add another setting to my LocalSettings.php or this there something I must consider when creating the database for the import? Thanks and all the best, Marcus Stöhr

Tag Extensions

Hello, I am having an issue getting more than one Tag Extension working on the same page. I have included the code that i am using for the two pages that make up the extension. Has anyone had any luck getting more than one tag extension working on the same page? If so what steps did you use to make it work? RFC: Removal of wgEnableAPI and/or wgEnableWriteAPI configuration option

Hi, This was brought up in bug 30213. The API has been around for a while now and many scripts even started to assume it's presence by default. What we'd like to know: Do you have one of these configuration variables set to false on your wiki ? And if so, what is the reason for this. We'd like to collect some information and motivation on this so that we can make a better decision at removing these and/or helping in finding a solution (if needed) to the problem that is currently being solved by setting these variables to false. Hi, excuse my poor pronunciation, use a translator. Wikis are not practical and was looking if there is a simple way to create a portal into the structure of my wiki. [All apologies for cross-posting] We are happy to announce that you can now register for SMWCon Fall 2011 Berlin, September 21–23, 2011 http://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/SMWCon_Fall_2011 Registration is at http://de.amiando.com/SMWCon_Fall_2011 SMWCon brings together developers, users, and organizations from the Semantic MediaWiki community in particular and everyone interested in managing data in wikis in general. The Fall 2011 event runs for three days September 21–23, 2011: * Sept 21: practical tutorials about using SMW (learn about essential aspects of using SMW) + developer consultation (meet with all developers and discuss technical questions) * Sept 22–23: community conference with talks and discussions The detailed program is about to take shape [1]. Contributions are still possible. Please note that the event takes place at the time of the famous Berlin Marathon and a visit of Pope Benedict XXI. Booking hotels soon is recommended. You can register for the whole event or for the conference days only. Registration includes lunch and coffee on all days + a conference dinner on Sept 22nd. Multiple Tag Extensions

I am working on a few custom tag extensions. I have a few of them working great and I am happy with them, but I am having a problem getting more than one to work at the same time on the same page. Has anyone had this problem and had success solving it? Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Problem with mysql on mediawiki

Hi everybody i have a problem with mysql. I install mysql 5, php 5.3.3 and apache on redhat. Now when i want to install mediawiki, it offers me only one database sqlite, no mysql also. when i do this command on linux rpm -qa | grep mysql the result is: php53-mysql-5.3.3-1.el5_6.1.x86_64 and when i do rpm -qa |grep sqlite the result is: sqlite-3.3.6-5.x86_64 python-sqlite-1.1.7-1.2.1.x86_64 The result of phpinfo() is: PDO PDO support enabled PDO drivers sqlite pdo_sqlite PDO Driver for SQLite 3.x enabled SQLite Library 3.3.6 nothing pdo for mysql. Additional .ini files parsed /etc/php.d/curl.ini, /etc/php.d/fileinfo.ini, /etc/php.d/json.ini, /etc/php.d/mysql.ini, /etc/php.d/mysqli.ini, /etc/php.d/pdo.ini, /etc/php.d/pdo_mysql.ini, /etc/php.d/pdo_sqlite.ini, /etc/php.d/phar.ini, /etc/php.d/zip.ini I need in the install of mediawiki that it offers me mysql also because i want to install it with mysql. I dont speak very well english i'm french, so excuse my bad english. Thank you in advance for your answers.

"In-line"-ing article

Hi, Everybody, I apologize if this is a noob question; I actually consider myself pretty good at digging this type of thing up but after hours upon hours of googling I'm still unable to come up with an answer to what I would think would be a seemingly simple question to answer. Basically I am building a personal website and I would like to use media wiki to store some documentation that I am generating. I have a little menu bar at the top of my page; its pretty simple, just HTML & CSS with tables generated by PHP. If you really want to see it you can just go here http://128.135.217.176. Nothing fancy. Anyway, what I would like to be able to do would be to 'in-line' an article into this page, but without having to use frames or anything like that. The 'body' section of my page is basically just a cell of a table. So the actual 'in-line' PHP code would have to be between a couple of <td> tags. Anyway, it seems pretty easy to do this using for example, wordpress, using the integration features described here. http://codex.wordpress.org/Integrating_WordPress_with_Your_Website. Is there a way to do anything like this with a mediawiki article? I apologize if this is such a silly question. Thanks, Dan

Change notification from Replace Extension using localhost in URL

The subject almost says it all. Links in change notification emails work correctly when users edit or create a page on our intranet mediawiki. But if I use the Replace extension to make a change, the notification email uses http://localhost/main/index.php/whatever. Am I missing some setting somewhere?
