Is there any issues with adding some lines of code to let me know when
the script has finished processing. Currently when I run manually in a
terminal it just stops after a while. However I actually don't know that
it finished its job. Some of the other scripts actually do have a "I'm
done" line when finished. Or an error warning when it craps out.
Thanks!

I transferred a lot of pages from another site. I am getting this error
in the resulting pages when I view them. It usually appears several
times in a page and seems to be related to this call:

Hi all, I am looking to develop and ongoing consulting relationship with an outstanding MediaWiki admin.
Ideally someone that can help us to upgrade MediaWiki to current versions, manage backups, install new themes and plug-ins, etc. We currently have a version of MediaWiki running on AWS via TurnKeyLinux, but I would be OK with moving it to a direct AWS installation if recommended.
If you are interested, please send me a brief overview of your qualifications and hourly rate.
Thank you,
Peter

I've been looking at the various GA extensions and can't find one that meets
my specific requirements. I need to be able to track my whole wiki, as well
as allow others to track page subsets that they're interested in tracking.
These subset users should not see GA data for the entire wiki.
Is this a scenario that anyone has encountered or could offer advice on?
I'm currently experimenting with
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Google_Analytics_Integration but it
only allows for 1 GA account number, and includes all pages in the wiki.
Thanks
Bill
Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've done anything with MediaWiki, and I've been looking on mediawiki.org and didn't find the answer to this question so far.
I've got a 3rd party package written in PHP that uses MySQL as a database back-end, and while I like what the package does, it is poorly written from a programming standpoint (lots of security vulnerabilities). It also does not have the capabilities of community editing, which is going to be an important feature for a website I'm architecting.
I'd like to incorporate this package via a large MediaWiki extension into MediaWiki, using the basic table layouts from the existing package. The main issue I see so far is table name conflicts, which are easily solvable with different table prefixes.
However, I'm looking for a way to use the MediaWiki abstraction layer to access the tables from this third party package, and I need to be able to interact with the tables, including all CRUD functions.
Is there a way to access tables with different prefixes using the MediaWiki db abstraction layer from within the same MediaWiki site? I swear I thought there was, but if it exists I haven't found the documentation on it so far.
Or, if you have pointers on how best to make this happen without resorting to native mysql query or using the PHP PDO, I'm open to suggestions here. I'd really like to use the MediaWiki db abstraction layer if possible.
Thanks!

Has anyone managed to fix the WP Touch mobile skin for MW 1.18? If so, I would love if you attached a zip file of that skin to this email list.
WP Touch is a great skin that allows a wiki to allow mobile browsers to see the site much more easily:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Gallery_of_user_styles#WPtouch
Its based on a Wordpress skin.
thanks

I am trying to use changePassword.php to change the password of a user
(who has forgotten his password). The name of the user has the spanish
character tilde-n in it (UTF-8 \xF1). However, I can't figure out how to
specify this character in the --user= value. When I try to use \xF1, the
maintenance script sees it as the literal character string "xF1". If I
use \\xF1, the script sees the literal character sring "\xF1". I can't
figure out how to get the script to accept the unicode string encoding.
Any ideas?
