I made a new extension last night that when someone types [[ it brings up a window right there inline with the editor with search suggestions. It searches farticles and iles, categories, (if you type category:, file: or image:) . And it searches the entire article name, not just the beginning of the name.
You can see a video of it here.

It is written using the MooTools javascript framework. But if anyone would like to port it to use just plain javascript, let me know and we can work together so everyone can use it.

How can i change the edit function at the top menu, edit, history,
delete etc, so that edit is changed to say inventory. I'd also like
to change this from action=edit to action=inventory without breaking
anything.
Greetings All,
As Roan kindly noted, the times for my office hours session were wrong
for Canberra.
In Canberra time, the first session will happen at 03:00 and the
second session will happen at 15:00.
To see the full (and corrected) chart of times, please see:

Cheers!

Hi,
I'm going to merge my Wikisysop account (say "Larry") with a wiki user's
account (say "Jimmy"). As a result, I want to keep the name of the 2nd
account ("Jimmy").
Is that a bad idea?
Some more info : "Jimmy" account is a "ghost account". I created it but
never used it (contributions = 0).
I could do that with the User_Merge_and_Delete extension (
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:User_Merge_and_Delete). Maybe there
is a better way ?
I would like to be sure that this won't break my wiki. Thank you for any
advice.
Laurent

Hello,
Someone can tell me how to use security groups in the Wiki?
I am using the extension SimpleSecutiry But Protect tab I can only select
one group at a time. There is any way I can but select a group to free
access to a page or article?
Waiting in the wings.

I want to preload a page with a dynamic pre-filled template like so:
{{contained | Dynamic text here }}
But the preload parameter only seems to allow for a page, and I cant see how to dynamically change the page to do that either.
Any idea on how this could be done?
I am willing to write an extension if needed.
Thanks,
-Adam

If you do not have an IRC client, there are two ways you can come chat
using a web browser: First, using the Wikizine chat gateway at
<http://chatwikizine.memebot.com/cgi-bin/cgiirc/irc.cgi>. Type a
nickname, select irc.freenode.net from the top menu and
#wikimedia-office from the following menu, then login to join.
Or, you can access Freenode by going to http://webchat.freenode.net/ ,
typing in the nickname of your choice and choosing wikimedia-office as
the channel. You may be prompted to click through a security warning,
which you can click to accept.
Please feel free to forward (and translate!) this email to any other
relevant email lists you happen to be on.
