Dear All,
At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:FA-Class_Hip_hop_articles
several types of page quality are listed: Unassessed, Template, Cat.,
... , FL, FA.
Does each Wikipedia page have such a ranking ? Or only pages in
projects or portals (e.g., hip-hop) ?
Thanks.
Hello,
I've attached questions about the dump files pages-meta-history and
pages-meta-current.
Sorry for the details, questions are marked with (1) and (2).
Please, let me know, if I misunderstood something.
Thanks a lot.
===============================
(1) Is the following statement correct? The dump file
"pages-meta-history" lists all versions (revisions) of each page and
the dump file "pages-meta-current-yyyymmdd" contains for each page
only one of these versions (revisions): the last version of the page
before the day yyyymmdd
I try to test this statement on a small wiki and download from iawiki
(interlingua) these two files:
iawiki-20090201-pages-meta-history.xml.7z
iawiki-20080308-pages-meta-current.xml.bz2
Now I search for the page "Actualitates" in both files:
$ cat iawiki-20080308-pages-meta-current.xml | grep \<title | grep Actualitates
<title>Actualitates</title>
<title>Wikipedia:Actualitates</title>
<title>Categoria:Actualitates</title>
<title>Discussion:Actualitates</title>
$ 7z e -so iawiki-20090201-pages-meta-history.xml.7z | grep \<title |
grep Actualitates
<title>Portal:Actualitates</title>
<title>Categoria:Actualitates</title>
<title>Discussion Portal:Actualitates</title>
A look at http://ia.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actualitates reveals that the
page "Actualitates" existed earlier on iawiki, but it has been
deleted.
(2) Is the following statement correct? : The dump file
"pages-meta-history-yyyymmdd" contains the histories of ___exactly___
those (not more and not fewer) pages that exist on the selected day
(yyyymmdd).

I am in the process of migrating my existing MediaWiki installation over to a new server running CentOS 5.2. I have the following installed on the new server:
MediaWiki 1.13.4
PHP 5.1.6
MySQL 5.0.45
MediaWiki is installed under /var/www/html/intranet. The full URL to the main page on the old site is http://intranet.company.com/wiki-it/index.php/Main_Page. The new one should be same except for intranet2.company.com...
I am using another application on this server that uses apache. When I browse to http://intranet2.company.com/wiki-it/index.php/Main_Page, it brings up the other application.
I have the following in my /etc/httpd/conf.d/perl.conf file:
<VirtualHost 10.9.10.212>
ServerName rtnew.company.com
ServerAdmin sadams(a)company.com
DocumentRoot /opt/rt3/share/html
AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
PerlRequire /opt/rt3/bin/webmux.pl
<Directory /opt/rt3/share/html>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
SetHandler perl-script
PerlResponseHandler RT::Mason
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>
Do I need to add to this file or create a new conf file under /etc/httpd/conf.d so that my new MediaWiki page comes up (http://intranet2.company.com/wiki-it/index.php/Main_Page)? What needs to go in there?
Thanks for any help.

DPL (Dynamic Page List extension) has a problem with MediaWiki 1.14.0rc1. Any DPL tags that select on the Image namespace (e.g., namespace=Image) break because Image has been renamed to File.
I'm surprised this breaks DPL. I filed a bug report on the DPL web site.
Just letting people know, as this may require manual fixes to DPL tags after deployment.

To add to this: http://10.9.10.212/wiki-it/index.php/Main_Page brings up the other application (/opt/rt3/share/html) and not the login page for my new Wiki.

Hi, I have never upgraded my Mediawiki softwares. I have one that is Version
1.9 and one that is Version 1.10. Can I just upload Version 1.13 and then
point the database to my old version?

Welcome to mediawiki-l. This mailing list exists for discussion and questions

Posting to the list.
Before posting to this list, please read the MediaWiki FAQ[10]. Many common
questions are answered here. You may also search the list archives to see if
your question has been asked before.
Please try to ask your question in a way that enables people to answer you.
Provide all relevant details, explain your problem clearly, etc. You may
wish to read [13], which explains how to ask questions well.
To post to the list, send mail to <mediawiki-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>. This is a
public list, so you should not include confidential information in mails you

When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your
message properly. When quoting other messages, please use the "inline" quoting
style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Hello !
I am trying to get email working for pages that are watched when
modified. I have installed Pear mail and got $wgSMTP configured. I
tested Pear mail with a standalone program and that works just fine.
Even the "E-mail new password" on the log-in works just fine. I
tested with two users (as we should for generating mail for
watchlist). No luck. Any ideas folks ?
Thanks,
elcpub
