Hi again,
I went ahead and pasted the code for the Special Mergeable Changes extension onto its extension page. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SpecialMergeableChanges
I welcome feedback and I hope that someone finds it helpful.

I've got a problem with the page MediaWiki:Licenses
Some time ago I've deleted some records from the DB and maybe one of them
regarded this page, now when I visit the page MediaWiki:Licenses I get this
error:
There is currently no text in this page.
You can search for this page title in other pages, search the related logs,
or edit this page.
If I try to edit the page MediaWiki show me this error:
You tried to edit a section that does not exist. Since there is no section,
there is no place to save your edit.
How can I resolve this problem?
Thanks

Just remember, the "mytag" repairman is a lonely guy.
(Sorry, just couldn't resist. :-)

Hi, I was wondering how to create a link to Dummipedia.org without typing
the full url as in [[Wikipedia:Main Page|Wikipedia]] and not [
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Wikipedia]. Which file do I tweak?
Looks like it is at DefaultSettings.php but I can't find the exact location
to add.
Assistance greatly appreciated.

When replying to an existing thread, use the "Reply" or "Followup" feature of
your mail client, so that clients that understand threading can sort your

style[11], for clarity.
When creating a new thread, do not reply to an existing message and change the
subject. This will confuse peoples' mail readers, and will result in fewer
people reading your mail. Instead, compose a new message for your post.
Messages posted to the list have the "Reply-To" header set to the mailing list,
which means that by default, replies will go to the entire list. If you are
posting a reply which is only interesting to the original poster, and not the
list in general, you should change the reply to only go to that person. This
avoids cluttering the list with irrelevant traffic.

Hello fellow admins, developers, and gawkers,
We have several tag extensions that our authors misuse. Our talented authors are able to find incorrect uses for our tags both logically and syntactically, but the syntactical error checking would be of more general use. One of our authors favorite abuses of our tag extensions is to have two opening tags instead of one open and one close surrounding their data. (For example, footnote). The authors are often very frustrated when they can't figure out why they have tiny text that isn't going in a straight line and because all they are missing is a slash they often can't see it in the wiki text.
So are there any standard, tried-and-tested user error checking methods for tags that anyone would like to share? Unfortunately, "get smarter users" won't work for us.
I have already figured out the usefulness of
Function myTag( $input, $args, $parser ) {
If ( empty($input) ) {
Return wfMsg('mytag-error');
}
Else { ...}
}
Any insights would be appreciated.

I cannot edit MediaWiki:Sidebar. The page Special:ListUsers/bureaucrat
shows my user ID as both Bureaucrat and Administrator. Even so, when I
go to MediaWiki:Sidebar I get no edit button. When I go to
MediaWiki:Sidebar&action=edit I get a blank page. Finally, using
?title=MediaWiki:Sidebar&action=edit gives me the "View source" version
rather than the Edit version, leading me to believe the system doesn't
recognize my rights to edit this. It's unclear to me why.
Logging in as the WikiSysop produces the same results (i.e. cannot edit
the Sidebar).
I'm not sure where to look next and some advice would be greatly
appreciated.
