Hi all,
I've been using the FileLink-extension
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:FileLink without a problem with my
mediawiki 1.10.0 installation, but after upgrading my test-wiki to 1.11.0 I got
the following error-messages:
Detected bug in an extension! Hook filelinkDo failed to return a value; should
return true to continue hook processing or false to abort.

After posting these to the extension's discussion page
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension_talk:FileLink and also here
http://assela.pathirana.net/Talk:File_Link_Extension, I got the tipp to change
every occurrence of "return;" to "return true;".
I did this and also added a "return true;" to the end of the file/function. Now
I don't get the errors anymore, but neither do I get the filelink-button in the
edit mode. :-(
As the original author of the extension didn't react to my postings at all and
whoever gave me the described tipp hasn't posted any further comments, I'm now
hoping there might be someone who'd be willing to "adopt" this extension and get
it to work under mediawiki 1.11.x++
It doesn't seem a very large extension to me codewise but I simply lack the
needed programming skills to get it to work myself.
But as my wiki is using filelinks very much, I cannot update the productive
version without the extension...
Thanks in advance!
Katharina
I created two user accounts and need instructions on how to delete them,
from the command line I guess.
I don't have access to PHPmyAdmin on the server.
The edit button to create an internal link returns [[link title]].
I would like to change it to return [[link|title]].
Is there a way to do that, preferably just by modifying MediaWiki:Common.js?
I was not reporting a bug, just asking for clarification on the
"page" that does not exist.
I think I know better than report a bug on 2-year-old software.
With 12+ active wikis in mid-semester, I don't plan on upgrading now,
and never had a problem with the current install, just a
misunderstanding.
I'm a big believer in KISS and IIABDF (If it ain't broke don't fix).
I was planning to upgrade after the school year is over, to the
latest stable versions.
Appreciate the feedback,

I looking for a way to show the category Hierarchy of a page.
For instance, an article in category superglue might show Adhesive |
Glue | Super Glue
Im trying to set up my wiki so people can use a hierarchical system
for finding items/ products they did not know about.
Hopefully something like this exists and you can just input
{{category:superglue | max:5 parents }} or something like that.
Right now, I do this, but I use a template, and it is a pain.
Thanks,
-Adam
I discovered that even though I have the following in LocalSettings.php
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createaccount'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createpage'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['user']['createpage'] = true;
anonymous users are still able to create new pages just by typing in
their browser, so
http://mediawikiIP/wikiname/index.php/Garbage
creates a new page called Garbage.
I followed directions below for restricting page creation, but they
don't seem to work
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/
Manual:Preventing_access#Restrict_page_creation
How can I block creation of new pages?
This is in MediaWiki 1.5.4, PHP 4.4.7, MySQL 5.0.18, MacOSX Server
10.4.11
Even worse, the new pages don't show up in any of the Special Pages,
such as All Pages, Recent Changes, etc. Is there any way of finding
them, and deleting any?
Appreciate any help, thanks....

Because I want logged-in users to be able to create pages.
If I set them to false, they would not be able to.
I thought 'user' applied to logged-in users.
Or am I missing something here?
