Add "$wgMaxCredits = 3;" in your localsettings.php. It will display the last 3 editors of the article. Change the number as you want. Error 404 with Extension

Hei, I'm running a local Wiki at our company. At the moment we use Standard-Namesspaces and Subpages. For a better Permissionmanagement I'd like to use SpecialNamespaces, which I'd like to manage with this http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Simple_namespaces Extension. I'm testing with Version 1.11.0 I've followed the instructions in that document (database, Localsettings etc.) and have changed the following lines in the script: ----- $wgExtensionCredits['specialpage'][] = array( 'name' => 'Special:Namespaces', 'description' => 'adds a special page to view and manipulate the namesp aces table.', 'url' => 'http://My-Server/test3/Extension:Simple_namespaces', 'author' => 'Carl Austin Bennett' ); ------ I can see Extension on the "Version" page. And I get it under Special:Namespaces and it works. The problem I have is that the Link to the Extension on the Version-page does not work. It tries to call: http://My-Server/test3/Extension:Simple_namespaces The result I get is Error 404, page not found. The bottom of a page notes "This page was last modified 16:19, 3 January 2008" or whatever. What I'd like for our intranet is something MoinMoin does, which is add the name of the most recent editor, e.g. "by David Gerard." Is there some simple way to do this? - d.

Problem loading the messages of a custom special page

Hi everyone, I'm mystified by a warning displayed on my special page of system messages: Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'RecentlyStrengthenedVerbs::loadMessages' was given in /srv/www/vhosts/texttheater.de/subdomains/verben/httpdocs/includes/Hooks.php on line 114 Go to http://verben.texttheater.de/index.php?title=Spezial:MediaWiki-Systemnachri… to see the error in action. RecentlyStrengthenedVerbs::loadMessages seems to be called though, as the localized message of my RecentlyStrengthenedVerbs extension is displayed correctly. Any ideas? ~ Kilian

help files - linking

Hi all, I've tried following these instructions over and over again and I end up with Help that doesn't seem to link anywhere: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Installation-Software_Configuration#Int…: Running version 1.6.10, just installed and imported data from a phpwiki. I don't have much data to share, but the permanent "Help" link on the left points to http://mysite.com/mediawiki/index.php/Help:Contents which is a non-existent page even after following the above instructions. new wiki: two directories (akin to /w/ and /wiki/ on wikipedia and mediawiki)

I'm going to install a new wiki soon. I know that Wikipedia and MediaWiki have some articles in a directory "wiki" and other pages in a directory "w". I've heard this helps with writing robots.txt, so I would like to know how to do this for my own wiki. How do I do this? Thank you. (Also, as a side note, is there any purpose for this practice other than robots.txt?)
