I have two wikis
http://ecoliwiki.net/colipedia/index.php/Sandboxhttp://ecoliwiki.net/dev/index.php/Sandbox
Both are using the CSS.php extension to set display:none for h1 and
h2 editsection links on specific pages. But on the top link, this
page-specific css has crept out and is affecting all pages.
The two wikis are on the same server and are both pointing at the
same extensions directory. They are using the same set of other
extensions, and I know that if I comment out the require for CSS.php
the edit link comes back.
I have no idea what's going on! Help!!

Hello All,
The rebuildAll.php script lways failed on index rebuilding, it always
stopped because all the diskspace was already used up.
Can anyone tell me how much diskspace would i require to create the Search
index ?
Thank you for your time,
Waleed A. Meligy
I have a couple of questions before I do the next release of the
TableEdit extension/special page
1) In the TableEdit extension, the table data is stored in an
external mysql database. I had been hard-coding the name of this
database into the extension to avoid creating a global variable that
the user would put in LocalSettings. But it seems like that was a
bad idea, especially if one wants two instances on the same mysql
server... which I discovered I do want.
So, is there a recommendation for how to do this? Right now, the
global is just $wikibox_db (the old name turned into a variable).
Should it get a $wg prefix? I just want to make sure my extension
plays well with others.
2) I'm not sure what I did, but I could have sworn that MW sent me
back to the Special page if I log in from the special page. But now
it's sending me back to the page that called the special page...
which is not necessarily a bad thing in this case, but I don't get
why it's doing that.
Thanks in advance, as usual for any input.

Just a quick proposal, but what about setting up some sort of RSS feed
containing release announcements? Quite a few vendors do this sort of
thing for update and patch notifications, and I'm thinking that since
we want to encourage people to keep up-to-date, it might well be a
good idea to have an additional means of obtaining notifications.
On the other hand, would this be too much of an upkeep overhead, since
the release manager has to update about a billion templates on
MediaWiki.org, and send notifications to three or four (perhaps more)
different lists when he releases a new version at present.
Perhaps a lot more of it could be automated. ;)

Hi,
an upgrade from 1.6.8 to 1.10.1 by re-running the installer on the existing db gives me the following:
(running upgrade.php instead of the installer gives me the same)
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:
SELECT value,exptime FROM `` WHERE keyname='wikiximeswt:messages-hash'
from within function "MediaWikiBagOStuff::_doquery". MySQL returned error "1103: Incorrect table name '' (localhost)".
Any help?
Thanks,
Robert
Rob, what exactly is a 'full old version', how many does MediaWiki
maintain, and how far back do they go?
Platonides, where is the "advanced watchlist" documented?
Frederik, that looks very close to what I am looking for, except that the
inputs would be the current version vs. an older version (possibly
selected by date) and the markup would be introduced into the normal
MediaWiki page output (under control of the user). That would allow me to
very quickly home in on any changes in the page.
Thanks everyone!
Norbert

Thank you for the responses! I will give all those suggestions a try and
let you know how it goes. :)

Moin Moin!
Also einen
internen Link.
Danke im vorraus
Hello,
I'm using MediaWiki: 1.10.0 with PHP: 5.1.6 (cgi mode) & MySQL: 4.1.20.
I activated the "EasyTimeline" extensions who creates nice timeline but
ANY links created on the timeline legend works. I don't see any errors
anywhere (Apache logs or Web output).
I'm using ploticus 2.33-Jun'06 and perl 5.8.8 on ubuntu edgy.
Any ideas why this extention works but can't give any timeline legend
links works ?
Thanks
Johan
