Hi all,
I've been trying to configure the LDAP Extension and during my testing,
I am getting an error within Mediawiki that says:
"Login error: Incorrect password entered. Please try again."
The problem I am having is that there is no such error in the LDAP
extension code and no error logs being produced, so I have no clue what
part of my configuration is wrong. Am I not finding the ldap server, am
I not connecting, am I not binding, am I failing in a search for the user?
Anyone know how I can find out what the real error is?
Thanks,
Tim McGeary

Hi all,
I'm trying to include a very small portion of raw HTML in my Wiki's
Donate page-- just a PayPal button. But none of the default coding will
allow it to display properly, so I'm thinking it's because Raw HTML is
disabled by default. I've been reading that it's dangerous to enable it
across the Wiki, so is there a way just to allow certain tags, or a
small portion on a particular page, or pages ONLY edited by SysOps?
I'm not sure where I would go about changing the preference for the
WHOLE Wiki if I had to in order to include the code, though I have a
feeling that I would need to access that place for some other Wiki-wide
preferences I was wondering about-- such as why the Talk pages are
called "Discussion" on my Wiki. How do I access the preferences so I can
play with these things (if necessary)?

Hello All,
Recently I've got the request to place a logo under the toolbox menu.
I have one logo defined in the $wgLogo variable.
But I don't know what is the best way to put another logo under toolbox menu.
Could anyone tell me how to do it?
Best Regards,
Leon Kolchinsky

Hello,
I have a custom command line install script I use for a farm
installation of mediawiki and i'm having trouble using it with
1.10.0. It's erroring out at: $u->setPassword( $conf->getSysopPass()
); with the error "forbidden-password-change". The script is
primarily been copied from the config.php setup script.
Is there some variable i'm missing that has to be set to allow this
change via command line? Thanks!

Good day,
I've been trying to locate an extension for displaying docbook-like
admonitions (things like note, tip, warning, error). I've seen it
used in a few mediawiki-based sites and cannot imagine that everybody
has written his own implementation. But I haven't been able to locate
this among the mediawiki extensions.
Pointers anyone?
Thanks a lot,
Maurizio

Hi all,
we are happy to announce that the Semantic MediaWiki (SMW) extension has won
the third prize of this year's "doit-software-awards"
(<http://www.doit-award.de> German homepage). This annual award is granted by
the German state of Baden-Württemberg and MFG foundation as a support for
innovative software solutions that carry scientific developments into
practice. It is also coupled with some prize money that our research group at
Institute AIFB in Karlsruhe receives.
As usual, competition for this well-established award was tough and we are
very happy that SMW was successful. Thanks are due to many people who
continuously contribute code, translations, and advice to the project. The
active user base quite certainly also played a role in the assessment of the
jury. And of course we completely rely on the great work of the MW core
development team. Thank you!
Of course this fuels our motivation for further developments, and we are
currently very busy with designing and implementing "SMW 1.0" as well as with
making plans for the long-term future of the project.
Cheers,
Markus
P.S. Using SMW from SVN remains somewhat risky. Stay tuned until August for a
new stable version.
