Error on compiling eaccelerator on ubuntu

Hi, I'm trying to install EAccelerator on our Ubuntu server (6.06 lts) in order to speed up our MediaWiki sites, but compiling the source using "make" fails and generates an error. I'm following the instructions on http://advosys.ca/viewpoints/2006/10/installing-eaccelerator-in-ubuntu-serv…, (I Installed the recommended packages et.c.). Does anybody have any hints about what might be the problem, given the log below? Special:Version not working anymore

Hi, I'm using MediaWiki 1.9.3 and experiencing a strange problem. The previous administrator of the wiki has "disabled" the Special:Version page. It is blank now. I searched through the contributions of the administrator for edits in the special name spaces, but found only a few localization changes, which are not related with Special:Version. I tried searching for unusual directives in LocalSettings.php, but it seems clean. A few minutes ago I upgraded to 1.9.3 (from 1.9.2, replacing all the files expecting the conifg, the images and the extensions) and ran the maintenance scripts, but the problem still remains. Thanks, Tim, that worked great! One issue: I'm using markup in the "foo" I add to the bottom of the page, and it's obviously not getting parsed. What function converts "[[foo|bar]]" to "<a href='foo'>bar</a>", and "==Heading==" to "<h2>Heading</h2>", etc? I could easily write functions like this myself, except I don't to re-invent the wheel, and Mediawiki markup has style info, etc. I poked around w/ Parser::parse() and Parser::internalParse() but got weird errors about using $this in a non-object context. -- We're just a Bunch Of Regular Guys, a collective group that's trying to understand and assimilate technology. We feel that resistance to new ideas and technology is unwise and ultimately futile. How to modify text to create footer-- ParserBeforeStrip overdoes it

I'm writing a Mediawiki extension (http://mediawiki.pastey.net/28186) that changes text like "[[X::R::Y]]" to "[[Y]]", and then displays X and R at the bottom the page in a clever way (it's a semantic/RDF extension, because I'm not crazy about the existing Semantic Mediawiki). To do this, I did: $wgHooks['ParserBeforeStrip'][] = 'myInternalParseBeforeLinks'; where myInternalParseBeforeLinks(&$parser, &$text) appends "foo" to $text. This works great for the main article, but "foo" also gets appended to my page footer: # This page was last modified 16:57, 6 May 2007. This page has been accessed 56 times. {whatever "foo" I added appears here too} When I create or edit a page, it's even worse: "foo" appears all over the place. How do I get my hook to JUST add "foo" to the main article and nothing else? As you can tell from the hook name, I originally tried to add this as a InternalParseBeforeLinks hook, but that didn't work either. Hi, the faq says: - Change the value of $wgLanguageCode - Run rebuildMessages.php. I don't have rebuildMessages.php, but I find in MW 1.9.3 ls rebuild* rebuildImages.php rebuildInterwiki.php rebuildrecentchanges.inc rebuildtextindex.inc rebuildInterwiki.inc rebuildall.php rebuildrecentchanges.php rebuildtextindex.php I tried: $ php ./rebuildall.php DB connection error: Access denied for user 'klaus'@'localhost' (using password: NO) (localhost) Il this the right script? Internal Wiki Links

Hi all, I have an internal page listed on my Navigation screen. It's protected for viewing by users in group X, conceptually. I'm trying to create links within this protected area (https://foo.bar.com/index.php/SysAdmin:Main) so that I do not clutter the :Main window. I tried using the following syntax: [[SysAdmin:Link|Name]] however that creates a page outside of the SysAdmin namespace. What I was hoping to accomplish is create a link that inherits permissions from the SysAdmin subset and create a URL with a link such as the following: https://foo.bar.com/index.php/SysAdmin/Name Is that possible? My wiki was upgraded from 1.8.4 to 1.9.3 recently. Everything seems ok, but one thing is strange: I "moved" (changed the title) my User page "User:myusername" to "my work station" in version 1.8.4, everything was fine. but after I upgraded it to 1.9.3, I can't access both "User:myusername" and "my work station". The fellowing is the error message A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "". MySQL returned error "1267: Illegal mix of collations (latin1_bin,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation 'ifnull' (localhost)". The environment of my PC is * MediaWiki: 1.9.3 * PHP: 5.0.4 (apache2handler) * MySQL: 4.1.11 * Fedora 5 Is there anyone have the solution to get my User page back? regard, ct

MySQL $wgDBmysql5 mistake(s)...

Hello, I know this is experimental and I know that I've done a terrible mistake but I've done it!... Now how can I repair? Because, I'm not sure that this is my only problem, but it seems that I'm in big troubles :/ I'm running http://fr.ekopedia.org web site since 4 years and we are using Mediawiki since 2 years and half. The db have migrate from host to host (fortunately all Linux) and from MySQL versions to others. The db is actually a bit more than 300Mo and archives are available at: http://db.ekopedia.org/ My problems actually are: - it seems that there is multiples encoding inside the db (used iconv to check). - specials characters (like in esperanto) are turned into literal question marks. - mysqlhotcopy (a standard backup mysql tool) does a backup that is impossible to reimport. - dumpBackup.php seems to work perfectly but in time to reimporting, MySQL or mwdumper.jar say that some entry is already there and it stop without going further. - last but not least... Mediawiki application seems to get stucked sometimes on SQL queries. Result is that the server get so loaded that my only solution is to reboot!... This was happening not so frequently but now it's quiet all days..... So does anyone can give me advises on how I can do ? Thanks!! Jean-Luc
