Hi folks,
is there a way to make new users confirm their own account registration by
email (example: by clicking on a link within the email confirmation
message)? I want to prevent people from registering with fake email
addresses.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I recently installed mediawiki 1.11.0 in public_html. At first, it
prompted me that I am not using php5 and have to install via a .php5
link. I followed the link and came to a 'checking environment' page.
At the page, it says PHP 5.25 is installed (?) and gave me the
go-ahead to install mediawiki.
After the installation, I found that when I go to my domain
(http://example.com), my browser prompted me to download a file with
my domain's name as the filename. To see my page, I have to go
directly to http://example.com/index.php5.
So I do a search and thought I can solve the problem by adding
AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
AddHandler x-httpd-php .php4
to .htaccess. Well, it doesn't work.
Anybody can advice? Is it possible in my case to use .php instead of
.php5? Should I edit the .htaccess file before installation and not
after? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
Best Regards,
Atticus
Hallo liebe community!
http://www.malexikon.de/wiki/%D6lfarbe
Richtig wäre aber %C3%96, also:
http://www.malexikon.de/wiki/%C3%96lfarbe
header ('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8');
oder
ini_set('default_charset', 'utf-8');

The topic of corporate intranet wikis seems to come up a lot.
Does anyone know of a wiki about corporate intranet wikis? Both
technical and social aspects.
Of course, Googling "corporate wiki" produces commercial wiki engine
sites and occasional news and blog posts ...

Hi,
I read that since MediaWiki 1.11 deleted images are automatically kept for
possible retrieval. Is it possible to clean these files ? I saw there's a
table in the database with a list of these files and the map deleted/ in
images/. Is it possible to empty these 2 without problems ?
Regard,
Kenny
Ever since I upgraded to 1.11.0 every so often <editsection-brackets> shows
instead of the [Edit] link, also "my watchlist" turns into
"<mywatchlist>" without the quotes at the same time. If I reboot my
server everything returns to normal. There is nothing in the error log.
Note: the <mywatchlist> is still a link and works but the
<editsection-brackets> is not a link.

Hello all,
I need to link to local files and folders (mapped network drive).
Problem: the folder and file names sometimes have spaces.
[file:K:\MyTest\file.doc File] - Works fine
[file:K:\My Test\file.doc File] - Link not completely recognized because of
space in folder name
Can anyone help me with a solution? Is it also possible to link to folders
(C:\My Test\) or only to files?
Thanks alot
Tobias
