I've been trying to find a solution to this problem but my googling is
failing me.
I am trying to set up 2 local mediawiki blogs on this machine using
Debian 9 and Apache/2.4.25. They will not be web facing, just pure
localhost-based.

Is this in a single VirtualHost container in Apache?
What does the Apache configuration actually look like?

Does this help please?
Sorry for not replying sooner but I've got the builders in at the moment.
Thanks
Sharon.
sudo apache2ctl -S will show you how Apache is deciphering the currently
enabled virtual hosts.
