Is there any reason not to enable https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/InstantCommons by default? The docs don't show any.
$wgUseInstantCommons will often not work on intranets due to firewalls and stuff. The other day I tried to enable it on a private wiki, resulting in each image page load taking > 30 seconds (waiting for curl to timeout, I guess).
