No such values will *ever* appear in the hyperlink.
It is therefore not weird. It is normal.
However, the
fix that works is add the pipe after the last value. For
example, this:
[[image:image-name.jpg|thumb|200px|left]]

Do you mean that "200px" appears as the image caption?
This does not happen in my testing.
But if I add the pipe
at the end:
[[image:image-name.jpg|thumb|200px|left|]]

Please describe what you mean by "as expected".
This would go a million times faster if you can provide a URL to a page
showing the problem.
