You have to realize that many folks are using multiple operating systems. On
a given day I am on XP, FC4, and OSX. While I applaud a mac tool, the real
fault is in writing tools that don't work natively on all operating systems.
That's where a server-side app comes in handy.

The speller built into MacOS X seems to be smarter than that. Example
