Continuing the money matters topic on the other thread, I am wondering if there is any control on the spending on the world tours of the techie guys at WMF.
They move around so much and the output is so less compared to their travel, i just have some nice laugh when I see their output reports on the "Wikimedia Hackathons / Devcamps in India / Asia"
Probably, WMF can fund some startups in India who can do a much better job in much less money.
OK. If some others are adding to this mail, lets generate more interest in this topics.

Did anyone make a set of notes from the session? It helps to go through those along with watching the video.
I'm inclined to agree with zada zadti. If the WMF can partner with a few startups, it would be great, since startups are more vision driven rather than money driven. At the same time, the WMF/Wikimedia tag would give them a boost.

Hey,
WMF funding tech startups can be
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_from_the_frying_pan_into_the_fire
From becoming a grant making organisation to a venture capital :)
They are already having contractors on payroll who do tech work. That should be enough I guess.
Ravi
There are way too many sock puppets. They're not encouraged on Wikipedia and I don't think they should be replied to or answered to on Wikimedia mailing lists. This is an unfortunate out-growth of the politicking on this list and saps precious volunteer energy without achieving anything.
If you have anything to say use your real name or at the very least your Wikipedia user id if you'd like to remain anonyomous as on Wikipedia.
That's my two cents anyways. I also see that some of my emails to this mailing list are not going through. At any rate, I do not see them in the archives.
Warm regards, Pradeep Mohandas

The mail below was to be sent as a reply to another mail. Gmail seems to have mixed things up. Sorry about this being off-topic here.
