Hello,
For a year or more I have been looking for an individual grant to buy a
simple image scanner.
My most recent application was at Ta Wikipedia
<https://ta.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%AE%B5%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%95%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%95…>
>From that application:, I need a scanner regularly, so I would not be able
to do all works in a particular period (for example, someone says, "take a
scanner for two weeks and return after that)
Can anyone give me oive me one?
Hi,
I got this message in my spam folder. Talks about paid wikipedia.

Dear Vishnu,
Thank you for everything you have done for free knowledge in your time with
CIS-A2K. You have always modelled a mature and professional approach to
the work and to engagement with our communities, never at the expense of
warmth, sympathy, and genuine interest in what volunteers care about and
aspire to. All jobs in the Wikimedia world are complex, but you came in to
a particularly complex ecosystem, with multiple stakeholders, many
different communities, and not a little bit of baggage and history, not all
of it helpful. :)
Your integrity and hard work inspired all around you, and paved the way to
great improvements in communications, community and inter-organizational
relations, and, of course, programmatic impact.
You will certainly be missed.
Asaf
P.S. We are yet to have our friendly hot-spicy-food competition. :) It's a
small world.

Dear Wikimedians,
This is my last day as the CIS-A2K Program Director.
The last 2 years and 3 months have been immensely exciting with tons of
learning and work!
I have loved meeting many Wikimedians, face to face, across the length and
breadth of India. The interactions I had with many of you have been
immensely useful to my learning.
The diversity of our community and the Wikimedia projects in India is so
rich and intricate - I wish I could map out my entire set of impressions to
only give a slight glimpse of it!!
Signing off as the Program Director for now. See you on-wiki, here on the
lists and in real life whenever our paths cross.
A quick update: The next A2K Program Director selection is under process
and hopefully we should all be able to welcome the new incumbent in June,
2015. Until then the A2K team is being internally monitored by CIS
leadership.
Best wishes,
Vishnu
Vishnu,
Wishing you all the very best in your future endeavours.
Thank you for the large amount of work you have done for the Open Knowledge
movement.
See you around,

Hi,
Internet access through mobile phone is increasing but not all Wikimedia
projects have official apps in all mobile operating systems. And for those
apps like Wiktionary, a different approach would be useful to foster
offline usage in Global South regions where Internet connectivity is still
a luxury for the majority of the population.
In order to address these issues, WMIN intends to launch a Mobile Apps
Design Contest during May - June 2015 engaging the MediaWiki, FOSS and
mobile developer communities.
We welcome community input for this program at
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wiki_Mobile_Apps_Design_Contest_2015
The contest will be launched by mid May 2015 based on these inputs.
Thanks,
Ravi
