Hello,
Thank you for the question, and comments. Yes, as the usernames are
available, contribution, including recent activity, can be seen from the
general logs/tools.
However, by design of Project Tiger 1.0, infrastructure support was not
given with a necessary report-writing, and it was not informed to a
participant that their activity will be tracked, recorded, and published.
Hence there is not any individual performance-tracking, other than the
aggregate.
It is noted, some of you might want to see this report. If the community
agrees after discussion, this can be included in the second iteration of
the project.
Thanks
Tito Dutta

Hello Ananth,
Wikimedia India ran an infrastructure support program in 2014-16. Here is
a report by them about the change (increase) in the contributions by the
recipients-
http://wiki.wikimedia.in/Reports/Infrastructure_Scholarship_2014_-_2016
I am not requesting you to create such a graphical report. Just add the
contributions in front of the recipients’ usernames which you have already
listed in public.

Pavanaja

Hello Ananth,
I am aware that the recipients of laptop and/or internet support were not
bound to contribute more to Wikipedia/Wikimedia projects. I am just curious
to know the outcome. That’s all.
Your argument that sharing the metrics against usernames will be against
privacy of the user can’t be accepted. Because you have already shared the
usernames of the recipients here-
- Laptop recipients -
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Supporting_Indian_Language_Wikipedias_Progr…
- Internet recipients -
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Supporting_Indian_Language_Wikipedias_Progr…
Since the usernames are already in public, how come listing the
contributions in front of the usernames become privacy violation? Anyone
who knows how to run the metrics can get the data. I also can run the
metrics and generate it. But I don’t have much time to do that. Moreover I
am not a paid employee like you, who is paid by CIS for these kind of
activities. Hence I requested you to give that data. But your arguments has
fallacy.
Thanks and regards,
Pavanaja

Hello Pavanaja,
Thanks for your interest of you in the Project Tiger. I would like to
answer your questions in the following points.
- The laptop support and internet stipend were not related to the
article writing contest. We never said that the support recipients should
be active during the article writing contest.
- We will be not able to share the requested metrics against the
usernames. As it's against the privacy of the user.
- It was not an expectation or mandatory for the participants to
contribute after receiving the support.
If the community wants we can change the process in this iteration.

Dear Tito,
I have already seen those metrics. They are not giving the info that I am
looking for. As already written by me –
I would appreciate the stats in the form –
- *Username, Articles created, no. of edits, data added (in kb/mb),
uploads to commons*
- *It would be better to give this stats from the date they received
the chromebook and/or Internet.*
Thanks and regards,
Pavanaja

Hello Pavanaja,
Thanks for the question. Project Tiger 1.0 had two parts, one supporting
the Indian communities with infrastructure support. The second part was the
edit-a-thon. These two parts were not related/linked to each other.
The support recipients' list was decided by a jury. Active Wikimedians who
needed this support were eligible to apply. Over-All metrics may be seen
here.

I searched in the reports and could not find it.

Tiger 2.0 / GLOW
Hello,
We are glad to inform you that Project Tiger 2.0/GLOW is going to start
very soon. You know about Project Tiger first iteration where we saw
exciting and encouraging participation from different Indian Wikimedia
communities. To Know about Project Tiger 1.0 please see this page -
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Supporting_Indian_Language_Wikipedias_Progr…
Like project Tiger 1.0, This iteration will have 2 components
1. Infrastructure support - Supporting Wikimedians from India with
internet support for 6 months and providing Chrome books.
2. Article writing contest - A 3-month article writing contest will be
conducted for Indian Wikimedians communities. Following community feedback,
we noted some community members wanted the process of article list
generation to be improved. In this iteration there will be at least two
lists of articles a) Google-generated list, b) community suggested a list.
Google generated list will be given to the community members before
finalising the final list. On the other hand, the community may create a
list by discussing among the community over Village pump, Mailing list and
similar discussion channels.
We request you to go through these pages to know more about Project Tiger
2.0/GLOW

2.

We will give you more updates about every step and procedure in the next
two-three days.
