I have MW running on a Mac and it only took about 5 minutes to get it running, perfectly.
Are you running MW1.7 - did you install PHP5? That might be a silly question. I don't know what would happen if you tried to run MW 1.7 with PHP4. would it run but oddly, or would it not work at all.
Interesting - I have loaded PHP5 onto the Mac, but, seems Apache Server keeps turing PHP4 on. What effect this is going to have on MW 1.7, I don't know. I have to track that down.
I run MW 1.6.~ page names with spaces get changed to include an underscore - so a wiki page named foo bar would become foo_bar and need to be referenced as [[foo_bar]], but, still displayed as foo bar.
Not sure if that is helpful - could point you in a direction.

Just installed MediaWiki on OS X and I have an internal page with a space in the name...
Can't seem to link to the page!!!!
Page name is:
'Drawing Numbering'
Link is
[[Drawing Numbering]]
Pages without spaces in the name link ok. I've tried [[Drawing_Numbering]] and [[Drawing%20Numbering]] but neither work.
As I mentioned previously I set up MW last night on my PC in about 5 minutes. @$^%@$%^ Mac is proving a pain!!!
Any help appreciated.

The mediawiki site says previous versions of MW are available on sourceforge. I need the last stable copy that runs with PHP4. I cannot find it on that site. When I look though I can find the various news and announcement, but not the "media."
And help would be great.
christopher....
Well I've got a workaround but it's damned ugly...
If I search for 'unmade_page' then click make this page and then when linking to the page use [[unmade%20page]] it sort of works...
pretty limiting though and if somebody can suggest a better way...
TIA
