Hello,
I'm (still) trying to figure out how templates work. I put a wikipedia page onto my site, and it looks like this:
http://www.pictureguides.com/edit/index.php/New_York_City
Wikipedia's looks like this, though:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City
And I can't figure out why. Help appreciated.
Charlie
Other than the content, the main appearance difference is because the CSS is missing. The base template uses the geography and infobox classes. The CSS which goes with those can be found from MediaWiki:Common.css. Once you change your own MediaWiki:Common.css page, be sure to force your browser to do a full reload so it picks up the new CSS file (ctrl-F5 in IE, ctrl-shift-r in Firefox).
You'll also want to be aware of MediaWiki:Monobook.css.
