copied the three related functions into my skin class, tweaked it a bit,
works! I don't understand it completely, but right now it looks just
like it should...
For skinning mediawiki you really need php abilities, at least in
reading it...could/should be easier ;-)

categories complicates it.
This is pretty much why I hate the addition of categorieshtml to the api
and dislike the way we use catlinks.
