Doesn't [[Media:Document.pdf]] work by default?
That did and does work, however PDF (etc.) files following an upload
would invariably be stored in the "images" directory, so if you wanted
to link to the following ZIP file, for example:
http://vincentdepaul.sk/skola/Sklad:Page-protection-1_4-for-1_6_8.zip
... the heading of that page would say
"Image:Page-protection-1 4-for-1 6 8.zip"
and the word "Image" would be contained in the URL.
That did not seem to be correct, so I changed the "Image" namespace
to "Sklad" (meaning "Storehouse" or "Depot" in Slovak) as a
more
appropriate description of the files contained in MediaWiki's upload
directory. (There did not seem to be a way to enable 2 separate
upload directories in MediaWiki, one for images and another
directory for non-image uploaded files.)
