Hi.
I am running a Mediawiki based wiki for professional airline pilots within British Airways aimed at distributing route information.
The version info is as follows:
MediaWiki (http://wikipedia.sf.net/): 1.3.11 PHP (http://www.php.net/): 4.3.10 (cgi) MySQL (http://www.mysql.com/): 3.23.56
I wondered if somebody a bit more au fait with upgrading than me would help me upgrade the media wiki software to a more current version? I am wary of doing it myself in case I screw up the current database.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Best advice I can give you is to make a backup of the database and the files, then have a go yourself. While there are things that could go wrong, you shouldn't have too many problems. Read the UPGRADE document for advice, then run the upgrade.php scripts and go from there.
