Thanks for the encouragement but I am afraid you have to be a bit more concrete. I am a busy guy with way too many different jobs and the only time I could dive into it is during the university vacations (one of the jobs I have is being a professor in three quite different subjects) but the good thing is that I do have 6 months holiday which unfortunately are almost finished. Links to pages which could guide me through this would be appreciated. Problem is maybe that I have to know too many things about too many different specialities.

I don't see why not, but you would need to write something to search the folders those pages are in and parse the HTML to the desired wiki-text. I'm sure you could find something that would walk through the html for you. PHP's SimpleXML or DOM objects if nothing else.
