I am using the collections extension http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Collection to create PDFs of selections of our wiki.
Is anyone aware of a way to create these pdfs off-line using a cron job?
I'd like to run a midnight snapshot of the selections for the reviewers.

Right after I posted this I found the magic:
mw-zip --collectionpage="wikiName:Books/savedBook" --username=Me --password=Secret --config=http://wiki.url/mediawiki --output=test.zip mw-render -c test.zip -o test.pdf -w rl

You may want to wait on developing new things related to PDFs until we know what the (in progress) PDF hack sprint has come up with.
Or else, join their sprint. :)

Looks interesting. I'm glad to see that zim files are a priority.
Let me get through this push and then I'll be able to look at future directions...
My goal is to get multimedia zim files so we can distribute via Playstore and iTunes but right now the client needs PDFs in customers' hands so that's what I'm doing. :)
