Hello everybody,
I want to use multiple mediawiki on a server but wikipedia seems to be made for only one installation per server.
I am using the Debian wikipedia package and I found a feature request that is quite old: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=392966
I also found some hacking how-to for multi site configurations: http://jacksonjstrong.blogspot.com/2009/01/multi-site-mediawiki-configuratio... http://jacksonjstrong.blogspot.com/2009/02/multi-site-mediawiki-configuratio...
I am wondering if multi-site support will be a release goal soon? And if I build hack the LocalSettings.php to point to the right settings file and get it to work, how long will it work before it breaks? Will multi-site be support in future releases?
Thanks in advance,
Jelle

MediaWiki does support many installs. See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Wiki_family
Debian packaging of MediaWiki is designed to one install per server, and at a fixed place. But that's an artificial limitation of how they configure it.
