In Firefox there is a search box which has things like Google, Ebay, Wikipedia and more... Is there a way to add another media-wiki instance to Firefox? Say a corporate wiki installation, the gentoo wiki or your other favorite wiki?
This may be more appropriate for a Firefox mailing list but I figured someone here may know how to do it.

I went to that folder to look for the wikipedia one to copy and modify but it seems like they were all there except that one. Is that one hard coded into Firefox?
Does anyone have a .src example file for searching their own installation of media wiki?

Assuming you're using Windows, you probably looking in Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins. The Wikipedia search plugin is a custom add-in, so it will be located in your profile. Try Documents and Settings<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox<profile>\searchplugins.
Or look at this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/search-engines-static/wikipedia.src
