Any way to simply track the people viewing my site. Only a registered usere my edit the contents but I want to see who is visiting. i have analytic installed but that is not exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

There is a 'Whosonline' extension which may help. That shows who's logged in, but I think it also shows the IP address of anonymous users.

Extension:Wiretap was intended for an internal corporate wiki where transparency is more important than privacy. It is definitely too invasive for an open, Internet-facing wiki. If you insist on installing it please make it clear to your users that they are not browsing with the anonymity expected from MediaWiki.

Thanks! I already advise that this site is monitored for activity and also that there is no promise of anonymity as all content must be GPL'ed or similar. However I think you are correct that I should make it more prominent & better explained. excellent point!
FYI: I also plan to only use this during the heavy development phases.
