that solved the Problem. Nevertheless, in the user options mediawiki says "Server time" 10:51, Local Time: 12:51, difference: 2". It would be great if there was a note telling the user that "server time" is meant as UTC without any Timezone information.

I agree, especially since it doesn't take into account wether the server is running on UTC or local time. ;-)

Does one of the system messages (MediaWiki namespace) not provide the capability to edit that message?

Should be in Mediawiki:Servertime.
