I am using Outlook Express and there is no way to directly read the attachments. I have to use Forward and only then the attachments get clickable. Or to visit the web site of the list.
Any hints from Outlook experts?
The attachments I think you are referring to are digital signatures for the content of the message and don't carry any human readable information. The signature can be used to verify that it really was Brion that sent the message, and that the message has not been tampered with enroute. AFAICT Outlook Express is not capable of verifying these signatures.

iirc microsoft fixed a security issues with attachments by disallowing user to open them. You have to save them on your hard disk and open from there. That's a lame choice though.
A possible way to fix it is to use a real email client. I personally owned a license for The-Bat: http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/ I am now using Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/
Really you should stop using OE as soon as possible, it's not even able to quote messages correctly.

You can use "view source" (right mouse button on a message, properties, details, message source) but I soon got fed up with that and switched to Thunderbird. Less viruses anyway.

Brion is not sending attachments, he's sending PGP signatures. They are RFC-compliant, Outlook is not. Getting a standards compliant mail reader is the only fix. Sorry.

Sorry, Outlook kinda sucks and doesn't understand PGP-signed e-mails in the standard MIME format, so it mistakenly presents the message as an attachment. I'll try to remember to post in the old ugly ASCIIfied format...
