I'm working on the same problem right now. There was an extension to export pages from Moinmoin to Word, then maybe use Word2MediaWikiPlus and convert Word to Mediawiki - yeah it's also tedious. Well let me know if you find a solution.

No doubt it needs substantial kicking. But it might be a start.

*Generating* well-formed wikitext from well-formed XML doesn't *sound* hard. Though I've yet to examine the output of MoinMoin->DocBook and see what actually makes it through.
