Hi I have a problem installing MediaWiki on my hosting service package. Here's what I get when I try. It says it's a MySQL problem, but won't even have a clue what to ask my administrator to do...

PHP 4.3.11: ok Warning: PHP's register_globals option is enabled. MediaWiki will work correctly, but this setting increases your exposure to potential security vulnerabilities in PHP-based software running on your server. You should disable it if you are able. PHP server API is cgi; using ugly URLs (index.php?title=Page_Title) Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support. PHP's memory_limit is 16M. If this is too low, installation may fail! Attempting to raise limit to 20M... ok. Have zlib support; enabling output compression. Neither Turck MMCache nor eAccelerator are installed, can't use object caching functions Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/wikibus/public_html/wiki/config/index.php on line 1328 GNU diff3 not found. Found GD graphics library built-in, image thumbnailing will be enabled if you enable uploads. Installation directory: /home/wikibus/public_html/wiki Script URI path: /wiki PHP is linked with old MySQL client libraries. If you are using a MySQL 4.1server and have problems connecting to the database, see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/old-client.html for help. Trying to connect to MySQL on 127.0.0.1 as root... MySQL error 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO) Trying regular user... MySQL error 1045: Access denied for user: 'wikibus_admin@localhost' (Using password: YES)

To the original poster:
In other words, this means this is something your hosting company ought to sort out pronto, so it's not directly your problem. ;-)
